Using cc4 and I8
Imported a character via .fbx.
Worked perfectly after I fixed the opacity of his clothing.
Shown are the 3 images with and without clothes.
THE PROBLEM: The clothes don't move with the character.
It "looks like" the clothes are/is a separate character with it's own bone structure.
Is there a way I can get the clothes to follow the avatar/model? Also, the character is not in T position, even though this is his T position so can't use human IK.
Was this an export problem from the original?

Can't really determine from you screen capture what's what, but what you need to do is select the clothing and then select Transfer Weights.

Okay, lost again. I see skin weights if I select the clothes.
If I press that, there is paint or selection.
I dont see anything that says "Transfer Weights"

I'm hardly an expert, but try this: you should see something like Change to Accessory. Select that.

This changes the clothing into an object that you can position. Now the option to Transfer Skin Weights should be available. Apply that and the clothes should work.

If it is a Humanoid, it has to come with cloth already rigged to the character properly. You will not be able to transfer skin weights from body to cloth (tweaks are possible with Skin Weights panel - but not full transfer).
And the character better come in T-pose, or you have to set it manually to T-pose in Characterization before Activating.

This program makes me crazy (my ignorance).
It comes in humanoid, but there are only 2 face bones. I doubt I could use it anyway.
The clothes appear to have their own bone structure and you can't parent them to the other bones of the avatar.

It seems I'll not be able to use much imported content as Humanoid.

Going to try my luck with headshot and see if it RE-creates my creepy little dude.
May not animate the characters, but would be nice. The transition from one program to I8 is going to be difficult.
Thank you for your help. I hate to even ask as I know everyone is busy.

Third party Humanoid characters imported to CC4 have to ready for the import.
That is cloth has to be bones free and properly weighted to the body.
And then if you do not have much of face bones, face morphs have to be created for expressions.
All this can be done in an advanced 3-rd party app like Maya, Blender..etc - plenty of time and practice.
Otherwise like Jeff suggested in the other thread, DAZ is a great source for all kind of characters and creatures.
Bring them up with Transformer, or as Humanoids.
Transformer in CC4 is kind of mess, but still all can be fixed with built in tools. Again need time and practice.

I really don't know what I'm doing. So new to this software.
I dont know how to remove the bones from the clothes, tried a million different things.
Don't know how to make clothes that will work either.

I just downloaded DAZ, a lot of my content is from there so maybe the daz program can remove bones and then export.
Thanks for the help.
