Yikes, that's crazy. That much extra? Where do you live? That makes it hard to compete because if everything costs that much more and you are in a country were you can't charge as much that makes it worse. I had no idea things were taxed like that.

I see your frustration. I wish I could help more.

RobH2 (8/23/2022)I know that didn't help you solve your issue. Maybe the only solution is to upgrade.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I have already upgraded to the Space Navigator, but then 3DConnexion has recently emailed me claiming it has also been retired, being replaced by the Space Mouse. They keep informing me that the newer drivers will eventually not support it anymore, so here we go again. Like you said, these devices never break, but instead, they are forced into early retirement by holding us hostages to the drivers.

To put things in perspective, my country charges 98% duty taxes on top of the price, and this is over the price THEY estimate, not the value printed on the invoice, so in most cases, the price more than doubles to us. As a more extreme example, a 1TB HDD could cost 5X the price from the US to us last year. So when 3DConnexion tells me I can no longer use a perfectly working device because of driver support, imagine what that means to us. I guess what I mean is that not everyone lives in a 1st world country.

Ok, maybe I'm mistaken on the age of my device. It's a SpaceMouse Pro not a Space Pilot. I had the Space Pilot first and maybe I forgot how long ago that was. It's likely that the tech is just too old to run the new code. If you've had the same 3d device for over 10-years then you've gotten a good life from it. No computer equipment runs that long. It's time you had a new one anyway...lol...  I keep hoping mine will break so i can buy a new one but it just keeps going. Mine's so old the rubber coating has gotten sticky but in the past few months enough dust has settled on it to make the stickiness go away. It's hard to say anything bad about 3dConnexion because even if they are slow to push out drivers now and then, the stuff just works forever... I honestly don't know how they stay in business if you only buy two of these in a lifetime.... :)

I know that didn't help you solve your issue. Maybe the only solution is to upgrade.

@TAaustin

Have you installed the latest 3dConnexion update? I have the original Space Pilot as well, going on 10-years and it's still working and mine is working perfectly in iClone 8 now. I doubt it's a ploy. I've talked to them several times and the guys at 3DConnection seem like pretty good guys.

I'd start by completely uninstalling the Space Pilot drivers. Back up your custom setting before doing that. Reboot and reinstall. See if it helps.

I also have the original SpacePilot, but it has stopped working ever since upgraded to Windows 7 or 8 (it was long ago). 3DConnexion has stopped supporting it on the driver side. How did you guys get it to work in modern Windows 10 or 11?

Have you tried what WeiChien(RL) mentions on page 7? Have you installed the latest 3dConnexion update? Can't speak to Pilot but the 3DConnexion works great, at least for camera moves (I'm still not sure I'll ever master it for just navigation around the viewport, though).

I have the original spacepilot and it is spinning out of control, you are not alone...I think it is a bug or it is a ploy to buy another space mouse.

Amazing. So they actually did it. 3dconnexion support. Only took them 15 years and 8 iClone versions!

The Space Navigator was released in 2006. I recall joining threads in this forum years ago asking for 3d mouse support.
