Hi everyone!
Some time ago I was used to utilize iClone a lot, both for my own pleasure and to sell some cloth materials in the Marketplace as well. I always upgraded to the newest versions of iClone, CC and 3DXchange (nowadays I have the 7th version) but at some point my hardware wasn't able to bare the software. I then bought a laptop for work, that works also with the Reallusion programs even if not very well.
But that's the good news: I'm finally ready to purchase a new pc!
I want it to be a good machine able to run very well the Reallusion 3D programs and any other 3D program I'm going to install in a next future.
Please, could you give me some advice about what to purchase?

In the shop where I am a customer they suggested me:
- CPU: Intel Core i7 of 10th generation, or another intel Core i9 11th generation.
- RAM: 32 GB (or 64 GB)
- Graphic card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, or RTX 3080.

I'd really appreciate if you could tell me something about. My budget is about 3000-4000 euros.

Thanks in advance
Michela

If your budget is not suitable for the 3090, I can recommend the 3080. But purchasing the 3060ti will not let you down.
But if you want to upgrade the graphics card later, the price may be too high.
Therefore, choosing the system with the highest graphics card you can afford will give you an advantage in the future.

I don't know what 3D apps you are using.
I would definitely recommend at least 64gb of RAM for your comfort and because of the constantly evolving 3D programs.

I couldn't see the disk information.
I can recommend at least 1tb, 2tb SSD if possible.
Or you can consider at least 512gb SSD for C drive and 1tb or 2tb SSD for spare disk.
You can get 2TB HDD for storage as an extra.

The system you choose may already have a liquid cooler.
If it is not available, I would suggest you to install a liquid cooler.

If you can, get a 3080 ti over a 3080. The 3080 ti is almost like a 3090 as to the number of CUDA cores, but with 12 GB instead of 24 GB VRAM.

As to the CPU, get an Intel 12th generation, either a 12700k or 12900k. I don't know why the store recommended older generations.

And as yepkoo suggested, go with 64 GB RAM.

Water-cooling may or may not be necessary. I have an older air-cooled system that works fine. My Dell R12 has water-cooling, but the case is fairly small. Get something with a reasonably sized case. Small cases are cute, but troublesome.

And stay away from something with RGB lighting, which makes your system look like a Xmas tree and causes unnecessary heat.

If you mention the country you are in we may be able to suggest something.

The problem with bought over built is that you have no control over the components. I bought my Dell last year because I wanted a 3090, which was impossible to get otherwise. The GPU died recently, but I had warranty and they replaced the card with no costs to me, even the shipping was included. So it is important to look at the warranty of what you buy.

I don't know why the store recommended older generations.

Maybe because I live in a sleepy town. I'm the only customer of that store using 3D programs. LOL.

I'm from Italy... I don't know if it would be different going to ex. Milan to buy my PC... anyway I can tell the store what to request thanks to your precious hints! So thank you all so much for answering my topic.

I couldn't see the disk information.

Or you can consider at least 512gb SSD for C drive and 1tb or 2tb SSD for spare disk.

You can get 2TB HDD for storage as an extra.

On one side they proposed me 512gb SSD with a support interface SATA III (?);
on the other HDD + SSD, storage capacity 5000 gb, hard disk capacity 4000 gb, 2 hard drives, hard disk rotation speed 5400 RPM.

The cheapest suggestion is an HP, while the other is a MSI. I just checked the Dell italian site but I can't find anything over 32 gb RAM, for example; no 12th generation... that's when I hate where I live. :-(
Anyway as you said it'd be better not to buy over built.

My other 3D Apps are Blender and ZBrush at the moment.

Again, thank you so much for your answers. If you have any other suggestion please tell me.
Regards
Michela

If I had to choose I would get MSI over HP, but that is based on past experience.

I don't speak Italian  but I went to the MSI Italy website and with Google translate I could make sense of it...:w00t:

There are specific Creator desktops, which don't look too bad (the game systems look like they could take off any minute :P).

This one is kind of nice: https://itstore.msi.com/desktop/content-creation/creator-p100x-11te-633eu.html.

It would be ideal if you could customize like with Dell, but it's a start. It's good to take your time before settling on something.

BTW, you may not like where you live but you're close to good food! :satisfied:

Thank you so much, Animagic!
I'm definitely choosing the PC configuration from the link you wrote me. I believe it's the best start I can choose considering the country where I live. I'm very grateful to you for taking the time to search in the italian site! (You did it, despite the Google Translator LOL). Again, thank you so much!

Hahaha yep, let's say so! :-)  Feel free to ask me for anything italian if you ever need it!

Thanks everyone, I'm very glad I asked in this forum.

If you can afford 64Gb of memory, I would recommend it.
