I had the same problem. I just went to preferences, under the Dynamic Texture Editor tab. You just have to Clear Cache.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work so I moved on to the steps highlighted next. Turned off that check box, cleared the cache from there and created a new folder on my C drive for the cache then tried again. One or more of those steps solved the issue. I don't know which but at least it worked.
Thank you all for your time and energy in assisting me with this. Very much appreciated!!!

mybadstudios (3/1/2022) Hi Peter
Thanks for the tip but that doesn't seem to be it. I clearly have over 105Gb of space left and that is just on drive C: I was thinking that since my second and third drives are set to expand into one 2.5Tb partition and appears in Windows as 1 2.5Tb D: drive, maybe CC3 is seeing that the physical second disk is full and THAT is causing the problem.... but All Reallusion tools are some of the few things I installed onto my C drive so back to being confused :(
Thanks for supplying more information. If you cleared your temporary files then you should have cleared your image cache folder too. Another thing to check is your "Dynamic Texture Editor" settings in Preferences (CTRL+P). As you can see if you have "Enable DDS Cache" checked it is recommended you have 200GB space free to avoid problems. In this case try with both the "Enable DDS Cache" checked and unchecked to see if makes a difference. Also try clearing your cache from here as well in case your system is not clearing the cache automatically as it should do.

The 10 times is for when you deactivate from your account. Like if your computer crashed, or you cannot uninstall for some reason. A regular uninstall while online will free the license to reinstall without doing a deactivation. If you ever do use up ten deactivations, just contact support to get that counter reset. You do not need to re-purchase! You probably have the installers already on your computer. In the Hub, click the setting gear in the top blue bar. In the window that opens, click the link. It opens the folder containing the installers uses.

Just be online and uninstall via Reallusion hub. This way they will register deactivation.
And install on C drive .
You have a geniune reason to reinstall. Just go ahead with this. Also scan fix windows too.

I installed CC nearly 3 years ago and it only started doing THIS this week, hence the confusion.
As for the "uninstall everything" option, reinstalling everything every few months because of the eyes coming out black or [insert small stupid thing here] is slightly annoying but not the end of the world so it was on my ist op things to try but since I have a capped data package I will need to do all of this after midnight one night. Ughgh.
Mainly, though, my issue lies with Reallusion themselves in this regard. I remember I wanted to reinstall something a while back and I was warned that I can only install it 10 times before I have to buy another seat and had to confirm that I want to go ahead with uninstall. If the software is forcing me to reinstall everything every few months for [insert small, stupid reason here] and Reallusion is saying "You can only install it 10 times" then one of these days soon it might become a case of: Uninstall everything, buy everything all over again, reinstall it then start saving for when you have to rebuy everything again 3 months from now.
This is making me seriously cringe every time I read "Oh just uninstall everything. You have $2000 just laying around, don't you?" :( I already qualified to receive CC4 when they launch it so I was hoping I wouldn't have to uninstall CC3 before then but unless they can offer me a better answer it sounds like that is the order of the day :(

Personally i use Macrium reflect to backup. CCleaner Pro for cleaning and registry fixes post uninstalling. Revo uninstaller Pro to uninstall but not for Reallusion.
And Bitdefender Total security.
I have recently moved from Win 10 to 11 but both had no issues.

There seems to be some system specific issue. You can try uninstalling everything. Now three options 1 install everything on C drive 2 install in another new drive but not D
