Hi, guys!
I made a jacket in Maya 2018 for my CC character and followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFWnWDUk2lM to bind jacket, copy skin weights, and export all that staff with jacket and body template to CC3. In CC I went to Create - Cloths (with fbxkey file), added model and fbxkey file and got an error. After closing this window only default mesh appears in the viewport/

Like only fbx 2012 will be ok. Since I use Maya 2018 I didn't check that. I tried to export with and without textures just in case, but it still didn't work.

The tutorial you are referring to was for Character Creator 1.5 but in Character Creator 3 Pipeline you can bring in custom clothing in a much easier way.

You also shouldn't need to use an FBXKey and instead just choose Create > Accessory to bring in clothing in FBX or OBJ formats. This process is explained in more detail HERE
