Hello,

Is there a way to import cloth assets that have already been skinned or weight painted by other software( maya, blender...etc) into CC3 and keep the skinning information? The cloth assets are bound to the CC3 skeleton of course.

Thanks!

If the Cloth is skinned with a FBXkey CC Base
you need to use  in CC the import function Create> Cloth,Hair Acc with FBXKey

otherwise there are no other way

btw I prefer also this way, because I'm not realy happy with the skinning tools in CC
I skin my mesh in Akeytsu now, because no subscription mode.

My workflow  I import my static cloth mesh, use in CC the copy skin method and export this as FBX. The FBX key will generate automatically. This is a good starting point
I load my Meshes in Akeytsu and fine-tuning the weight maps.  At the end, I import all how describe above.

Thank you vidi!
Are there any requirements for import Cloth, Hair Acc with FBXKey?
like mesh name has to stay the same or the topology has to be exactly the same...etc

Important if you use Maya,  in the export setting must version FBX 2012 set otherwise you get a error message

Actually that would  make not sence, because the clothmesh  must be follow and deform with the CC Character.
DAZ Character  has different skeleton. weightmaps are the influence areas of the meshdeform  from  corresponding bones.

For this reason,  you need copy the weights from CC to the Cloth otherwise you would get odd results.
