I have a question on upgrade price: Will people who have 3dxchange get additional discounts on the upgrade price, seeing as how it is now integrated into the programs?
Consider:
2021 Year End Treats | ReallusionProduct | Pre-sale Campaign | Regular Price | Upgrade Price |
CC4 | Spend $399+, Get CC4 for Free | $299 | $249 |
iC8 | Spend $699+, Get iC8 for Free | $599 | $499 |
CC4 + iC8 | Spend $799+, Get CC4+iC8 for Free | $699 (Value: $898) | $599 |
- iClone 8 ($599) : With partial 3DXchange Pipeline integration (Value $499) and Curve Editor (Value $149). Check out iClone 8 vs iClone 7
- Character Creator 4 ($299): With partial 3DXchange Pipeline integration (Value $499). Check out CC4 vs CC3
I have:
iClone 7 (Regular Price: $199. Upgrade from iClone 6: $129)
Character Creator 3 (Regular Price: $199. Upgrade from CC2: $129)
3dxchange Pipeline 7 (Regular Price: $499. Upgrade from 3xchange Pipeline 6: $299).
Curve Editor Plugin for iClone 7 (Regular Price: $149. Member Price: $79).
According to the chart above, if I have iClone 7 and CC3, the upgrade price is $599.
However:
iClone 7 and CC3 (Regular Price: $398. Upgrade from IC6 and CC2: $258)
iClone 7, CC3, 3dxchange Pipeline 7, Curve Editor (Regular Price: $1046. Upgrade from previous versions: $636).
So basically, if there is NO extra discount for people who previously bought 3dxchange or curve, then people who bought:
iClone 7 and CC3 ONLY (paying $258-398)
will pay the SAME upgrade price as those customers who bought:
iCone 7, CC3, 3dxchange Pipeline 7 and curve editor ($636-$1046), and thereby paid 2x-3x as much!
Yet, both parties will get the same products with the same functionalities, and the optional (expensive) plugins would count for nothing. Perhaps as a reward to loyal customers who paid more in the past, thereby supporting Reallusion and the development of these new products, Reallusion might consider additional discounts on the upgrade price.
Something to sincerely think about.
