Unity Auto-setup Release 1.2.3

Built-in (Unity 3D): https://github.com/soupday/cc_unity_tools_3D/releases
URP: https://github.com/soupday/cc_unity_tools_URP/releases
HDRP: https://github.com/soupday/cc_unity_tools_HDRP/releases

Documentation
: https://soupday.github.io/cc_unity_tools/
Full install instructions here: https://soupday.github.io/cc_unity_tools/installation.html#

Changelog:
1.2.3
  • Skin diffuse Color modifier color-space correction.
  • Hair diffuse Color modifier added.
  • ActorBuild and ActorScan characters from CC4 correctly detected and set to Humanoid Rig.
1.2.2
  • Skin Diffuse Color modifier added.
  • Built-in pipeline version reduced minimum version to 2019.4.11f1.
1.2.1
  • Fix to Subsurface modifiers.
  • Iris Color and Iris Cloudy Color added to eye parameters.
  • Moved menu name from CC3 to Reallusion.
1.2.0
  • Blender Tools to Unity pipeline implemented.
    • Using compute shaders for baking Unity packed textures from base Blender textures.
    • Eye Occlusion and Tearline shaders updated for Blender model space.

I think that's most of the immediate issues from CC4 cleaned up and the more important missing material parameters added.

Hello Victor,

Hope you are doing well.
I thank you for all the info that you have provided and for responding quickly to my other questions.
We have decided to use Unity for the AR application and we are creating an educational book for children in therapy. Reallusion has such amazing products, we are going to use there platforms to build the characters and Unity for the AR. So, hopefully you can answer a couple of my questions and it will not be to much trouble.

Do you know how to get the animation to loop all the animations from Reallusion in Unity?
When the image target is removed and then placed back, do you know how to make the animation restart itself? Right now, when the image is removed and replaced, it continues from where it stopped.

Once again, we greatly appreciate your help. If you are not able to answer our questions, do you know a possible direction you can shot us.

I will include a couple of snap shots to show Unity and one of the sample image targets that we are working on to work out the bugs.

Not sure I understand what Image target is for.

If you have a sequence of animations you want to play back to back in a loop you can just add a transistion on the last animation state to loop back to first.

Turning off the object with the animator controller, or just disabling the animator controller component, should reset it and make it start from the beginning.

You may also want to look into using animation controllers as state machines in the unity tutorials.

It looks like there is a directional light in that scene that is way too strong. Walls and objects do not block directional lights for SSS effects.

I tried reproducing this and I had to put in a directional light at 10 Million Lux, which is over 75x brighter than the brightest daylight:

https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/77869b6c-d56b-4cb6-860c-7b88.png

So check your directional lights, anything with the warning symbol on the intensity (as shown) could be the culprit.

Alternatively, if unlikely, it could be a difference in Unity/HDRP version. Which versions are you using?

Edit: Also sometimes HDRP scenes bug when first loading them and the lights end up way too bright and the scene must be reloaded to fix it, it could be that.

@Victor.Soupday

Thank you so much for the quick reply.
You were right the sun light was way to strong. I wasn't aware that walls were blocking the directional lights, thanks for sharing this info.  When I tried the latest HDRP 1.2.3 I loaded a demo scene and quickly import a character without any regards to the lighting to make a quick test. Now i know it is better to set the scene lighting first before doing a character inport test.  ;)

Got a question since i'm a bit of a noob,

The models look great with this tool in Unity editor itself, but when I make a build, suddenly the models lose a lot of shading, like in their hair. And the lighting is suddenly much darker for me as well. Could just be because I don't know how to build Unity, or misused the URP, or something, but is this a common issue and does anyone know what could be the problem?

What platform are you building for and at what quality level?

A low graphics quality level could be turning off the real time lights or even replacing the shaders with basic ones, depending on the platform.
