Dear iClone and Character Creator Users,

We are pleased to announce the update of Smart Gallery 1.2 with its flexible storage and data access capabilities.

From version 1.2, Smart Gallery allows everyone assigning multiple storage drives for future installation & content creation, and it also supports moving location for installed content packs. Many features and error-handling mechanisms are added to let users managing assets freely. For workgroup members, this update makes it possible to easily manage assets from a central server now. For content developers, you are able to bake up custom content. The complete morph pack creation flow is also available in this version. 


Key Features 

Store Template Content in Multiple Drives

No need to worry about low storage space when expanding your library, now you can add additional drives to accommodate newly downloaded assets. Just select some content folders and migrate your existing assets to another drive!




Move Assets to a New Computer, or Using Portable Drive

Utilize Export and Import Data to easily backup all your custom content and metadata (tags, pack categories, types, descriptions, thumbnails, upload records, etc.), and transfer all purchased assets and creations to a new computer.




Content Sharing for iClone and Character Creator

iClone and Character Creator can share the same content packs without installing duplicate packs from the Marketplace or Content Store. Set both application’s asset folder to a single shared location, and simply double-click on the content packs to install the shared assets within.




Sync Assets from Any Drive and Any Folder

Smart Gallery allows you to import installed assets after managing file locations and names. Even if you have moved content around, renamed some files, or restructured some folders, Smart Gallery can still be easily synced by importing from a designated file location.



Directly Saving Custom Content in Smart Gallery 

Saving custom contents can be done with the Smart Galley after version 1.2, you do not need to use Content Manager to add custom content to the libraries. >> Online Manual

Would be great if Kai could create a tutorial on how to get started with the developer account and start selling on marketplace and Content Store, This would go long way to supplement the new Smart Gallery Features.

looks like a great update,  unfortunately it's getting flagged as dangerous malware - kaspersky is taking it like a serious threat because it's not giving me much of a choice but to disinfect.




note - I downloaded and installed a new complete copy -  installed fine,  no problem,  but the hub wanted to update again...and 2nd time kaspersky just deleted the patch, again no option to claim it a false flag,  else I'd send the file to them https://opentip.kaspersky.com/   to have the issue cleared.   -  can RL send them a copy please ?  kaspersky is not even letting me look at the patch file heh!

The same problem here.
I describe this for information.

I also use Kaspersky and I also got the warnings.
I couldn't start iClone with this message.



After a retry to debug the application iClone started.

And there is another problem.
Smart Gallery 1.13 for iClone is now installed, but the HUB tells me that I have to update.



The update for the Character Creator and the Smart Gallery for CC worked without problems.

The new version is Smart Gallery 1.2. You should be able to update this just as you did iClone and CC. What happens when you click to update Smart Gallery. Are you getting an error message?

I can't update the Smart Gallery for iClone with the RL HUB.
Kaspersky gives an error message. (The update is a dangerous object with a high risk) and removes it.
(the same message as planetstardragon received)



I think I have to wait till Kaspersky allows me to install this update.

Thanks for the info Arie. I will pass it on but it looks like an issue with Kaspersky. I'm not using Kaspersky myself and I didn't get any warnings updating Smart Gallery.

I just moved deleted file to Trusted zone and installed. I am sure it's a false positive.

after looking around in my antivirus,   i found a way to let it release the file for analysis,  I just sent it to kaspersky,  and hopefully they will analyze it and update their databases. 

It's listed as a pretty nasty category of spyware - https://threats.kaspersky.com/en/class/Trojan/ -  and not giving me a choice to exclude,  and tbh,  I'd rather wait for them to officially exclude it than disable any protections ( even though it doesn't seem like they are giving me an option to exclude anyways )   I'm sure it will be fine.


edit -  new update -  they bounced the email because the patch file was too big.  -sigh -    looking for another way to contact them now.
