I wanted to finally post the updated versions of the character designs for my 1980's G.I. Joe cartoon inspired animation project, which I will be creating in Unreal Engine. I finally got the characters to a point in CC3 where they look really good ray traced in UE4, especially with the SkinGen improvements. I rendered these in Iray, as it is the closest representation of how things look in UE4 with ray tracing.

Thanks. Truthfully I just cheated my way towards good results on most of these, by kitbashing a lot of different elements from Daz and the Reallusion Content Store and then either remodeling certain aspects in C4D and Blender, or creating new textures in Substance or Photoshop. I just study stills from the old cartoons and then it's good old fashioned trial and error until I get something that's modern, yet still indicative of the original.
