Hi,
I'm trying Live Link for the first time and I'm a bit puzzled about the frame rate I get in the final UE render.  This Reallusion video asks to set everything to 60fps.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjJldjrzqww
I've done that.  I had to switch iClone and UE to wire frame mode for the sequencer recording of the animation to maintain 60fps playback in iClone but according to the iClone display it held 60fps playback for the UE recording.
I then did a camera render (I didn't use the iClone camera but a UE camera) and rendered it in a 60 fps image sequence to match the above settings.
My expectation was that once imported into a 24fps editing timeline it would be rather smooth and slow motion but it's not.  It's a bit jittery when there is faster motion which is odd considering it was rendered at 60fps.  I'm thinking something is wrong with this 60fps setup in UE for the sequencer recording.
Has anyone experienced this and figured it out?  If not, is there a simple way to get around the sequence recording by just exporting the iClone animation separately and applying it to the live link imported model in UE?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi again,
I'm assuming there must be more users out there who are transferring animation from iClone to UE via Live Link.  Can you describe your workflow please?  The Reallusion video tutorial in the link I provided shows a rather awkward way of transferring the animation data via Live Link.  It's like the analog copying of an audio tape (showing my age here) and there seems to be an issue with the 60fps setup when doing this.  The resulting animation isn't smooth.  If you look in the video comments there are others with this issue but no response from Reallusion or other users.
It may be a hardware issue.  I'm using a single Titan X Pascal.  Maybe that's not enough muscle to do this, but I don't want to throw a load of money at a second GPU only to find out that it doesn't make a difference.
I'm really hoping this could be a discussion on how you go about transferring animation from iClone to UE.  Please share your workflow!
Thank you!

I would suggest to wait a little bit for the upcoming IC 7.8 & LL Update before buying new hardware.
As far as I know it will be released this month.

Thank you for that!!
Are you permitted to disclose anything about the workflow?  If not I understand.
Once again: Thank you for replying!!!

And I can't handle the frame rate mismatch!

Deactivate "fixed frames" in Project Settings but beware it could give problems with feet sliding , you also can insert a Time Dilation Track in Sequencer to slow down the whole scene , try a factor of 0.7.

So it looks like this was never figured out?

One thing I did, and the smoothness seemed okay (not perfect), was set the frames to the max that iClone could Live Link at ,which on my machine is 30fps, so I set unreal to 30fps. Seemed to work alright.
Good luck getting voice overs, from iClone to match though....

This was discussed here with tutorial video updates:
