Yeah, when I saw the Face Builder I was like, "Wow...impressive!"
And then I remembered Headshot and I was like, "How long does this Face Builder thing take to make something"
And then the results in Face Builder look just decent...not great, just decent..."

To me it is like Twin Motion....when all is said and done, you spend a long time to get something pretty average.

Hi everyone
sorry for my english from google translation.
indeed Facebuilder is really great for doing the job but does anyone know how to replace an iclone head with a blender head? as I am a beginner in 3d I tried all the means but I can't do it. of course i'm not talking about a head in obj that looks like a dead doll ^^

You cannot use the head from another source to replace a head in iClone.

Simply put, the internal structure is different and you will not be able to animate it. It also would not fit on the body.

Now you could try to export a character with the newly created head from Blender as FBX and then import that via 3DXchange. It would come in as a prop and you would need do the conversion to a character.

To me that seems like a lot of extra work with little benefit.

thanks a lot for your answer
I'm going to have to learn how to add a body and add bones on blender now

it depends on what you want to do
me for example I want to animate political characters and we do not often find perfect pictures from the front with their mouths closed and the results in these cases are catstrophic on CT8

If you like the wireframe view to stretch over the image, just set your character to wireframe in the Scene Manager. Then use the sculpt mode and image matching tool of Headshot. It's adjusting regions instead of just pinning, but with the level of detail available, it is very powerful.

Note that for wireframe, it is good to hide the eyes and teeth for a clearer view.

Yes, CT8 is pretty horrible in this regard.  But Headshot is not.

I do political characters as well and I can ALWAYS get great results from Headshot.  If you haven't tried it, haven't given it a decent shot, then you should.  You can easily find images that work great with it on the web -- they don't have to be perfect, but nearly every single politician has an "official" portrait posted which is almost so, and you can use these.

If there's someone you're having trouble with let me know and I can post some Headshot results to show.

Thanks a lot for your answers
it is true that HeadShot is very powerful and suits me perfectly, you just have to adjust the depth of the head and the nose almost ready and it's perfect

after a day of testing I managed to do a lot of things with headshot and I am happy but in some cases facebuilder is more efficient. I think that it is necessary to work with the 2 programs.
here is an example where I recognize Marine Lepen more easily on a blender than CC3https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/e7014989-fbf9-4651-aded-d1a4.jpg

To me that Face Builder image looks horrible -- looks like some "billboard" put on a round object instead of a real head.  Doesn't look at all like a person, let alone a real person (kind of looks to me like one of those Macy day balloons).

As to Headshot -- it just looks to me you haven't figured out how to use it yet.  It will come, but you should look at the excellent tutorials online.

I have zero interest in this person, but here's what I did in five minutes (also, as I point out elsewhere, having the right hair goes a LONG way towards a convincing portrait.  I really don't have the right hair but as I have zero interest in whoever the heck this is I'm not going to worry about it):

3Dtest has done some excellent tutorials on YouTube (search for them). You just have to be willing to do the work and you can get great results.

If I look at the Face Builder sample to me the face shape is far off.
