Hi Peter,

I followed your advice and it made no difference. I even did a clean driver install and restarted the computer to make sure. Same results.

I double checked and have the System Power Settings and Nvidia Settings to use max power.
I have also disabled the iGPU so iClone has no other GPU of choice, since doing so I am getting better overall performance while still not getting what I would consider to be reasonable performance.
Noticeably, on all instances, the 7th core seems to be pegged to 100% and I'm getting about a 85-87% overall CPU usage.
As odd as it sounds, it seems like there is something within the system or iClone itself that limits the the FPS/GPU usage drastically without much change to the CPU usage.

Hi...

Your Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings should be set to the default "Application Controlled" for iClone. If you have customised the global settings you should create a custom profile for iClone and ensure that it is set to the default settings. This will allow iClone to control the 3D settings. I would give it a try and see if it makes a difference (it should).

Reverting CPU clocks to stock just made performance noticeably worse.

I just did a clean display driver install and disabled the iGPU and here are the results.

@animagic,- Abandoned House - 20-22 FPS throughout on a 4k monitor, GPU load around 30%.
- Abandoned House - 21-22 FPS throughout on a 1080p monitor, GPU load around 12-14%.

Now here is where things get interesting...
- Courtyard - 28-30 FPS throughout on a 4k monitor, GPU load around 65%.
- Courtyard - 31-34 FPS throughout on a 1080p monitor, GPU load around 35%.

@justaviking,
I double checked and have the System Power Settings and Nvidia Settings to use max power.

For the sake of it I'm going to revert my CPU clocks to stock and see if it could be an overclock issue although I've never had any issues on this build aside from iClone.

I agree with Anmagic, something is definitely wrong.

I wonder if you have a system or Nvidia setting that's forcing iClone to use your CPU rather than the graphics card.  You might think you should still get better performance than what your seeing, based on your powerful CPU, but since iClone is assuming you have a graphics card, it's not always be a well-multi-threaded application.

a) Get a copy of GPU-Z... it's free... and use it to monitor the load on your graphics card.  See if it's doing anything at all.
b) Do you have one fully-saturated CPU thread when you're moving around in your window?
c) What happens if you actually try to Render a short video?

Sorry I don't know the specific settings to look for, but I'm pretty sure iClone's using your CPU and ignoring your GPU.

iClone 7... Character Creator... Substance Designer/Painter... Blender... Audacity...
Desktop (homebuilt) - Windows 10, Ryzen 9 3900x CPU, GTX 1080 GPU (8GB), 32GB RAM, Asus X570 Pro motherboard, 2TB SSD, terabytes of disk space, dual  monitors.
Laptop - Windows 10, MSI GS63VR STEALTH-252, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 (6GB), 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD

That doesn't sound right.

There are a couple of projects that come with iClone we have used for benchmarks.

You will find them under Project/02 Scene. I am curious what kind of FPS you will see when you play those back. My results are below:

- Abandoned House - 60 FPS throughout.
- Courtyard - between 45 and 50 FPS.

That is with a GTX 1080 Ti; CPU is i7-5820k with 32 GB RAM. Your system is more powerful, so should be flying with these scenes.

Specs:
9700k at 5ghz
2080TI FE
32gb of ram
Windows 10
Working monitor: Acer 4k60 G-Sync.

Notes:
All drivers, system and Reallusion updates are installed.
CPU Usage ramps up to 100%
GPU hovers around 4%-16%

Issue:
I have noticed that even on an empty project I only get about 22fps while moving around in the viewport.
After loading up a character that's about 10k triangles
and creating a static 90k triangle scene with no lighting or AO with the preset set to high I only get a bout 2-8 fps.

This makes the using the viewport very clumsy and difficult. I was wondering if its normal to have such low performance and or if there is anything that I can do other than changing the graphics preset that barely helps.
