Interesting to see the mocap of the couple kissing along with the BTS commentary - that it's tricky, the actors don't touch, and the animators do a lot to make it seem like they are touching. This interested me most when watching "Snow in the Desert," that the skin seems to have just the right amount of deformation when the characters touch. I wish they would go into more detail on what exactly is involved.

mtakerkart (7/9/2021) for me this is the top of realistic of the moment. Love this
Yes Marc , she is Phenomenal ! This one and Lucky-13 were my 2 favorite. And also the Witness was awesome. But yes this Snow in the Desert character was the visual best! The actress who voiced and modeled the character is named Zita Hanrot, a French actress. She looks just like her.

Bassline303 (7/9/2021) Yes I like the Arcane Style or the LOL Style is great too :
When you look at it , you can see that the animations are perfect human (sometimes a little bit faster) , that is so fascinating (Spock would say)
It is not only the Style it is the animation too ! There is no stutter ... clean at all.Yeah, I love this style. They look subd’d to me ;-) Having said that I’m also a big fan of more stylized /cartoon like as well. Love things like tales of Arcadia, 3 Below etc.

It is not only the Style it is the animation too ! There is no stutter ... clean at all. This is all great! But behind these productions are large teams of professionals with very expensive equipment! The animations look realistic because they use mocap. Then they have a lot of manual work to clear the recorded animation. We will not be able to reach their level soon because we are all one man show!

Yeah, I see it as Nikofilm does, there is no point to compare to big productions. Sure, to get one's inspiration from them is fine, but keep in mind most of us do all alone. Well, alone with the help from this forum... ;) Thanx!

And immediately heading to my next question... I want to put a MH Head on my character to make him talk. Problem is, head is not separate but mixed with arms: What is the best/easiest way to determine an opacity map so only arms are visible? Sure; i could go trial and error, but maybe there are some hints... EDIT got it done... ;)
