I am sure everyone but me already knew this, but after I created a poker table with 11 chairs and a couple of chips, I was about to post here and ask if there was a way to do a bulk copy of a bunch of objects.

I decided to try it before I posted just to see if attaching all the objects at the table to the felt (to the table), and then I selected the felt and held down the shift key when I moved it. At first I didn't think anything happened because I didn't see a second table, but the Scene Manager showed a 'Felt(0)', and all the child objects got copied with it. I just had push the objects up out of the floor and move them into place.

I was afraid I was going to have to copy each item by hand.

This makes making copies of sets super easy.

Since I didn't bother this forum with my question, I thought I would bother you with my solution.

iClone is full of surprises.  :)

You can also create an array of objects.
Check out Multi-Duplicate.

One thing I found out real fast is make sure to detach the item from the parent before trying to rotate the object, else it morphs it unwanted ways.

I couldn't figure out what was happening and thought my mouse was broken or sticking, but I just had to detach the chip before rotating else weird things happen.

That was very funny.

About the distoring props, the answer it a bit technical, but it's sort of like you are rotating one box inside another box, and it streches and skews to fit the outer box.  (It gets into fun math like "Matrix Transformations" - nothing to do with "The Matrix" nor "Transformers.")  Some people have used that effect to make complex-looking props by distoring cyinders and cubes and stuff without having to go to another modeling application.  One guy especially, I think, just enjoyed the challenge of it.
