One short coming noted in the videos is that the hidden side of your hand can't be seen by the sensor.  Perhaps a possible fix is to have one leap motion controller mounted on the bottom (on your desk pointing up at your hands) and a second leap motion controlled mounted to your head looking down at your hands.  Is this possible?   I believe Live Motion Plugin is suppose to allow multiple  MOCAP devices to operate at once.
