Hey, I'm figuring out how to edit accessories and textures in PhotoShop, but one area has me stumped: how to add a logo to the crown of a ball cap or helmet?

When I export the helmet, for example, I get the image below. In order to add a logo, I'd need to, apparently, split it down the middle, then somehow place one half on one side of the helmet, and one on the another, somehow guess at the appropriate angles, then HOPING they are aligned when the helmet is once again rendered in 3D, but not knowing if they are actually aligned until I import them back into CT8.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Also, while I'm at it, I'm trying to figure out how/if I can add "side shields" to the standard wire frame glasses, seen below, so that my instructional videos are totally safety compliant..see images below. https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/3e845ded-ee51-44f1-91de-c94e.jpghttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/64af7b52-4f1b-4690-899d-9790.jpg

This is where a "3D painting" application in invaluable.
3DCoat, Substance Painter, something like that will paint seamlessly across the UV map.

Thanks, Viking. Another question, I successfully edited the Police Ball Cap, to change the logo, and the color, in PhotoShop, and saved it in the same format it was exported in - JPEG. How can I import this new accessory into CT8? It appears files are save as .ctiAccessory file extension.

Sorry, I have barely touched CT8.
I only saw your post because I clicked on the "Latest" forum option, so I saw it as a new post.

If you have questions about Substance Painter, though, I could lend a hand there.  And at least one other iCloner is very pleased with 3Dcoat.

Hopefully a CT8 person will stop by here to answer your other questions.

Good luck.  Smile

I think I figured out the ball cap.  I have to modify an existing accessory, like the police cap, then apply this to the police cap. The ball cap was relatively easy to add a logo to, since the crown of the hat was one piece.

The helmet, not so easy, since it's split right down the middle.

Still working on it. Within PhotoShop, it's doable, but VERY iterative.

Any advice on adding side shields to the glasses, or where to find safety glasses elsewhere?

Thanks.

While you can easily change textures from within CrazyTalk 8, you can't change the physical shape of a 3D mesh.

The only way to get safety glasses like you describe would be to use iClone 7 and then export the accessory to CrazyTalk 8.
