Friends - for those out there who might have missed it (the obvious) along with myself, I finally found where to get the PopcornFX editor interface seen in the Reallusion demos for the product, but not included in the package. It is available to download through the 3rd party developer site located here: https://www.popcornfx.com/download/
You will also find sample projects within the editor to download & begin to edit,  customize, & save to your folders. This LOOKS exceedingly complicated at first, there is a code editor as well in there. (looks to be missing assets?) Although it seems to work fine, I'm getting missing file errors within the code editor.
Here is a screen-shot of the first sample project loaded into the editor, ready for tweaking, & SOMEDAY, I may actually figure out how to use it! Here is a LOT of tutorials for the editor program:  https://www.popcornfx.com/tutorial-full-page/
Good luck, & please share any tip, trick, or toots with us - don't be shy! (This means YOU, Warlord! lol) ~V~76% of original size (was 665x19) - Click to enlargehttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/de39aed6-4163-4318-bb9f-83e8.jpg

Val,

I had downloaded this a few days ago but frankly the impression you have is what I had the first time I saw a YouTube tutorial of this.  And I don't think I'll live long enough to be able to program anything with it.  Nor do I really want to do so.

The only reason I want to install this is I understand you can download a lot of other effects and *perhaps* just port them over.  It's that "perhaps" part that has all the gochas in it.  Somewhere Miranda (I think it was her) posted at least five or six things you need to be aware of if you try doing this, and while none of them were horrendous the group of them together made me go... hmmmm.  So we'll see.  This may be one of those "I'll buy whatever others come up with" sort of things for me.

The first Main problem is that PopCornFx project are set with the Y axis Up but Iclone and UdK are Z Up.
In this GRACE thread, there's an explication how to fix it but it's very very Abscon for me . I tried but
seriously non sense for me how to figure out:

https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost351136.aspx

If some advance people could fix the z Up orientation for this non exhaustive list of  Popcorn free exemples , I could
buy them in the Rellusion store. Thank You

I'm going to try and get some of the FX over, but my bigger concern is that even if you figure out how to port them there may not be many (if any) parameters you can then change.  I guess we'll need to see some ported to be sure (so anyone who wants to post any they've ported for the rest of us I'm sure we'll appreciate it :>).

However, I doubt that you can sell them (they wouldn't be your effects to sell, even if they were ported -- think "taking a Daz model and making into an iProp" -- you couldn't sell that in the marketplace).  If you make up your own FX then you surely can sell them, but not ones others have made.

When you create a project in POPFX editor, make sure it's an iClone one. Then you just import the libraries you want. You may need to download if you have not already. Then you just import the ones from that iClone project using the plugin in iClone. The adjustment sliders in the effect will be available in iClone.

Not all of them work, but many do. More will over time , I suspect.

Here's the Smoking Ball. Careful on the detail. It can be resource heavy!

The problem Rampa is that all the Popcorn exemple are 90 degres turn in an Iclone project. You can't fix it only in turning them. It's more complex. You haveto turn
in the popcorn editor all the elements (props, physics) one by one in the good direction.

That's exactly how i did it...
I downloaded all available fx and imported all to my iclone project folder.
As soon you did that you can load 'em in iClone and see how they behave.
There are some nice and funny ones, not all are attractive to me but it's for free isn't it?
For the moment i don't worry about the "wrong" orientation, you can use them though!
When i have some sparetime i surely will have a look at the editor and try to understand this :

And i hope RL will change the wrong link to download "basic *.pkfx file" provided as an example for a proper Z-Up particle effect...

Thanks Rampa for the video.
Today I played a bit with the editor and arrived to the same point, leaving behind these next 2 open points to be analyzed (tomorrow...):

1. how to bring into iClone particles attributes (if possible...), so that they can be modified
2. how to improve the particle quality in iClone: both when I tried and also your video shows a huge difference in the particle quality when imported through the plug-in (perhaps some settings here and there ?)

I believe these are the 1st things to fix before exploring how to create brand new particles (and I am sure KT will also do, as we all wish him to go well beyond 125 years old... ;))

Cheers

  Roberto
