@RL could we have an extra sub-forum on the Plug Ins dedicated to PopcornFX?

And perhaps other Forum readers could show support for the suggestion?

A plugin area already exists. What makes you think that this plugin, when available, won't be included?

I wrote this on their new Youtube video of Iclone integration:

"Thank you to share this. Will buy it for shure but please make tutorial for very very beginner of your editor.
Less scripting if it's possible .
Suggestion: could you build a particles marketplace ? like substance did ? I can spend lot of money for particles :-)"

Answer:
"Hi Marc,
Thanks for your message.
Scripting is an integral part of our software but we'll have a simplified version available next year.
And thank you for your suggestion about a particle store, we're indeed considering this option. Best"

I think it could be very promising...

Like mtakerkart I posted a comment on YouTube to the WIP video on POPCORNFX. I had a quick and courteous reply, but the content of the reply took me aback.

Let me share with you:

QuickTips : Houdini to PopcornFx

This Tutorial explains how to export a FLIP Fluid simulation from Houdini andimport it in PopcornFX. Detailed tutorials coming soon.

Visual effects and rendering powered by PopcornFX (PC, consoles and mobile)

AFAIK this is using thePopcornFX  plug in or editor as a generalconverter for other particle emitter sequences from Houdini or from Unreal 4Cascade [https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Sequencer/Workflow/CustomRenderPass/

].

Now I do not protest this strategy. For all I know this is a good strategy. But I would most certainly have preferredto know in advance that PopcornFX was a 3DXChange pipeline for particles ratherthan the total function package. Unless of course I have misunderstood, in which case, apologies all round.

PopcornFX was a 3DXChange pipeline for particles

Not really understand but I don't think you must have 3dxchange to use Popcorn plugin. In the houdini video you import
the houdini simulator file in the popcorn editor then you export your popcorn "project" in the Game engine via the plugin you paid for.

@mtakerkart
My apologies - I should have expressed myself more clearly.

I assume that whatever particle effect you need, you have to construct that particle effect in Houdini.

You then use POPCORNFX to import the completed project - that is, the particle effect - into iClone via POPCORNFX.

This, it seemed to me, was similar to the way that you import props and avatars into 3DXChange for conversion into forms that iClone can support.

So I said that POPCORNFX was like 3DXChange. I did not say that you had to use 3DXChange. Sorry if I did not make this clear.

So if this is what we have to do, then this is what we must do. But I had hoped that POPCORNFX would allow me to create fluid effects (which I would find useful).

I don't really want to learn Houdini and Unreal 4's Cascade in order to get my effects. But if I have to, I will.

Ah ok I understand. Fluid behavior is not my first particles request that's why I didn't give attention.  I think no realtime particles generator from game engine could
produce fluid because it needs Vector field , wich use too to produce tornado, velocity fume , etc... You need maya , houdini , 3ds ... maybe blender but I don't know.
Often some vectorfield template are given by default.  If you see this guy wich made incredible particles for UDK , he used lot of maya and 3ds.
But he made a vectorfield generator. I'm too young in this area to know if it works or not...
