Hi Peter I'm using Version 7.2.1220.1  Trying to load "successfully restored" project iClone crashes at 20% each time.
My project files are under 200mb  
Each time I had the timeline opened and animation clips visible.  In the task manager view iClone takes up 718 mb as a new project, when I try to load a restore project the memory drops down to 12 mb and then as I said before loaded at 20% iClone crashes.
Specifically it seems to crash when I'm in the Edit Motion Layer and if I accidentally click on a non bone part direct on the character in the main view it will crash and in turn saving that state of the mistake would be my guess. So perhaps Reallusion should take the restore point from the previous undo state rather than the existing state of error? maybe that is where the crux of problem resides.

I think what Reallusion additionally needs is the ability to "import" sections of a restore project then users/Reallusion can isolate/identify problem areas. I'm kind of surprised that iClone doesn't have the ability to create crash reports to be emailed to support.

This thread is about the Restore feature not working. If your problem is only a render issue then it has nothing to do with the Restore issue from iClone 7.01.

Unfortunately your graphic card is quite an old and underpowered model with only 2GB of video ram. This could be the problem especially if the project is large.

In iClone 7 try turning on Info (CTRL+F) and check how much video memory is being used up by your project. If it exceeds 2GB then that is likely the problem.

Do also let us know if the crashing occurs with all video formats (mp4, avi and wmv) or just one of those formats. Thanks.

Hi, I've updated version 7.02 but I always have the same problem while rendering out I crash I do not understand why, I have a pc icore 7 16 gb ram video card geforce gt 740 2 gb dedicated, iclone 7 ok, i it crashes only during rendering out

Please update to version 7.02 as this should resolve the problem. To update go to Help > Check For Update in iClone 7.

By golly, you're both correct.

Many people have learned the value of doing incremental "Save As" while working.
But that does not negate the fact that iClones recover feature used to work and now seems to be broken and should be fixed.

P.S.
I was trying to figure out how to write the plural of "Save As."
Save As's  ?  Well, I guess it does help save your ass.  ;)

How many (countless) times have we heard people say they lost entire projects?
If users learn to save frequently... just open the last save and finish your project.

Never rely of restore to save you.
Because, It's not the first time iClone has lost functionality and it won't be the last, either.

New Users.... save frequently. "You'll wish you did."

I just voted.

Same problem here. Iclone 6 worked so well I got LAAAZEEEE with multiple saves. Looks like that'll be the route to go till it gets fixed. Man... it saved my skin a ton in I6.
