I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio to assemble the iClone clips into movie. So the background music, sound effects, etc, are handled there.
Anyway, I took a quick look in iClone. It doesn't seem like there is a way to set key frames to control sound volume. However, there is something that may achieve the effect that you want.
After importing the sound, click at the sound file on the timeline. Place the cursor at the frame that you want the music to begin quite down, click the right mouse button and choose 'Break', move the cursor to the frame that you want the music to resume normal volume, click the right mouse button and choose 'Break'. You now have the sound file broken into three sections. The 2nd section is where you want to music at a lower volume.
If there is another place where you want the music to quiet down, then repeat the above until you have each of the quiet moments has its own section.
[Important: Proceed to adjust the volume ONLY AFTER the above have completed. Why? Just trust me on this for now -It is kind of late so I need to make this short]
Highlight a section where you want the music at a lower volume and move the volume slider to the left to reduce the volume. Do this for each of the sections where you want to music to quiet down.
