Although last post I implied I was give up on CT8 I have continued to play with. slowly getting better compensating for the problems with the CT8 to CC. The translation tend to slightly exaggerate many of the bumps and dips in the face. My solution so far is:
1) Once you get the face into CC go to the CC Base body Skin head material and go down to the material settign and change the ambient color from the near black default to white or very light grey. I think they make the ambient color dark to bring out detail but that seems to mess up the faces.
2) next clean up the facial material save the diffusion image someplace where you can reload.
3) If the first 2 steps don't do it, the next step is the killer. Make a backup of your CT8 head. Examine the the image in CC and compare it to the image you want (either in CT8 or an image) and try to figure out what needs to be tweaked to fix it.Then using the facial editor to include the detailed morph in CT8 first and then the face morphing in CC, teak the models to make them look more like your intended subject. I recommend keeping the changes small and don't be afraid to un do it when it does n't work. In the end you you CT8 May not look very good.
Here is my first success, looks Ok,

I try to tweak the Natalie i used in a previous video for comparison purposes

Note: it appears that with the last updates the quality of the translation from CT8 to CC seam to improve. Not sure if anyone else noticed a diffeence

Although you can't do much with CC heads in iClone, you have a lot of options to make changes in CC, which is what I do. I sometimes also use Export and Replace Mesh in 3DXchange to further modify a face.

My initial results with CT8 head creation weren't great, but I'm now quite pleased with it, while the heads also work fine in CC and iClone. (There were indeed problems with that, but they have been fixed several revisions ago.)

I posted this a few days ago in Crazytalk Technical Issues but think it equally applies here

Been trying to create faces using crazytalk pipeline to export to iClone 6 thru character creator. Seems to create a face with all the features I defined thru Crazy talk but loses the specifics somewhere in the translation. Not really satisfied

I bought CT8 pipeline specifically for the Face creation and export capability and I would not have bought it if I knew what i know now. I do find the CT8 face creation tool quite amazing but the one thing it really lacks is the ability to use off center facial views like the iC5 face creator/editor.  I probably would not have minded paying the extra, if it had actually worked.  The real annoy part is RL payed someone to right the CT8 to RL head translator and they failed. I;m sure they could of had someone write a iFace to RL Head at the same time for not much more.

Since the exports do seem to have similar features, I plan on trying to morph the CT8 heads in iC6 but I find iC6 interface is pretty lacking compared the editor for IC5 faces. Unfortunately that will add a lot more work to doing faces and I suspect I wont get the quality. Alternately I have also thought of just generating a whole mess of very diverse faces sorta like 100 faces pack but my thing is trying to recreate faces and that just doesn't sound fun to me.

If anyone knows if RL is working on fixing the translator I would greatly appreciate it.
