Can not get alembic animation to work in Octane render? I've managed to import both .obj and .abc file to Octane but can not get any animation. Does anyone have tips on how to do this?
My computer: Intel i7-7700K 4.2Hhz 64Gb, Windows 10, GeForce GTX 1080 + GeForce GTX 1070, Phillips monitor 40" 4K 3840x2160 + 2x28"

.abs file is gray and looks like the first frame of the animation, the .obj file has the texture. I cant find any information about how to set up alembic Octane import from iClone to Octane, has checked tutorial on Hitfilm but it seems that Octane has other settings.?

Hi Wendy, Sorry I do not understand, this is alembic export from iClone to Octane (not from Daz)? ;) Have you tried alembic animation export to Octane?

yes that is from iClone I just used a scene I had previously set up from an old DAZ one in Octane standalone to frame it as so long since I fiddled with it I forgot how to do it as in I used the render target placement nodes etc I had set up previously, dropped the abc file in outliner and connected the cord to the placement brick instead of the DAZ one I had

Alembic export is point cache, it doesn't include any textures. You have to set that up separately. Depending on the application this can be more or less of a pain but it is doable.

Yes aware but do not know how to add the material zones to do so. Seems missing mtl information As I said a DS import has the little circle nodes on the brick I can link materials to from ones that come in with an obj of the same mesh I then delete.

The link below has iClone to Maya, iClone to Hitfilm, iClone to Fusion Alembic tutorials, etc. May or may not help. I would like to see an Alembic tutorial for Blender too. Link
