With the coming of iClone 6.5 I'm interested to know RL past upgrade policy.
If I purchase today a 6.42 license, was the upgrade to intermediate release such as 6.5 free ?
And what about major release, there is a discount for license owners?
Of course this is just to know the history, RL can decide to change his policy.

Just a side note which does not apply to you but if you buy a product at the end of the life cycle just before the next major version comes it, it seems that RL has given a free upgrade to the next major version. For example, I bought iClone5.X Pro and 3DXChange Pro 5.X (don't recall what the sub-version was) about a month or so before iClone6 and 3DXChange6 came out. Once the version 6 software came out, I was given a free license for those. I don't know if this was for a iClone 5 users or if it was only those users that bought version 5 close enough to the version 6 release.

is 6.5 going to have some major improvements like better render?   also what else?

On facebook page , Reallusion said that better render is for the end of this year.

Excellent,  so what will this 6.5 contain then?  i didnt find any data on this new update.

It has not been fully disclosed, but a few things are known from the thread asking for Beta testers. One is an updated CC (v1.5), which supports custom clothing and hair. iClone 6.5 will support Alembic export (which is useful for exporting soft-cloth animations to other 3D programs) and 360 degree output. 360 degree videos allow a user to look around in a scene from his vantage point. Another application is the creation of 360 views in video that can be used as video backgrounds within iClone (similar to sky domes).

Thanks for the summary,  was not getting nowhere from that thread since it was huge and nothing was actually certain from the pages I read.  

So Alembic Export would be good for folks that use more than Iclone...so for me it wont matter much since I do everything in Iclone. The 360 view as a background is far the only thing that interest me.

The Beta information seems to indicate that in order to create custom clothing and hair for CC1.5 you will need 3DXChangce Pipeline. I hope this is not true. RL seems to have had the policy, up to now, that 3DXChange PRO is able to import anything that PIPELINE can import (as far as I know)...the major difference being that PRO cannot EXPORT to as many formats as PIPELINE (such as FBX). As such it would be inline with their previous policy to allow custom meshes to be importable by both PRO or PIPELINE.
