Outlaw0023 (5/3/2017) I bought iClone6 last year, when iClone 7 comes out will I get the update for free or will i have to pay for it? Just wondering. If you purchased iClone 6 before the Early Release offer was introduced then you will have to pay for the upgrade to iClone 7, however there is a reduced upgrade price available.

animagic (5/23/2016) I never understand why people yearn for an iClone 7 release, while it's far more cost-effective for us to have a series of feature-rich 6.x releases. As old-timers will recall, we did very well with the 5.x cycle...:PYes I am of the same opinion. And many software makers do the same thing. In many cases a "new release" is simply an improvement on the latest version and should bean update (Microsoft Windows for example). However if development time is costly enough I guess they have a right to redeem some of those costs. I myself don't mind supporting those companies that don't charge the full price of a new version when I get benefit. I don't however support the likes of Adobe who charge an arm and a leg for their new releases. Or have in the past as I wouldn't know since I don't but any new releases of theirs for that reason. With iClone I didn't mind the $100 upgrade. But I fully support your reasoning.

Hmm, now I have to eat my own words... I have had the opportunity to work with IC7 for a while, and it's a worthy upgrade...

dennisobrien Just to let you know Adobe doesn't charge anything for their new upgrades and hasn't for a few years now. You no longer buy adobe products you buy a membership plan. I pay $74.00 a month and it gives me access to everything they've made.

I believe the issue for some people is that if you stop paying Adobe you no longer have access to their products.

animagic (6/15/2017) I believe the issue for some people is that if you stop paying Adobe you no longer have access to their products. Unless you purchased an earlier version of their Master Suite :) which may not have all the newest bells, whistles, programs and updates!
