From: lesterdodds Sent: Mon, 04 Jan 2016 15:59:41 +0000 To: Technical SupportSubject: Keyframe animation The file Drawing1.dpa {attached} renders as: 150 bytes in DP X6 and as: 1.30 Kb in DP X8 The DP X8 SWF file will not work properly in CrazyTalk Animator 2 but the DP X6 SWF file works correctly. When in CTA2 the x6 swf has 2 index, one for outline and the other for center color and in x8 1 index for center color only also changes color when index is set Thanks

to me Hi Lester,
Thanks for your reply.
Sadly this isn't something that is going to be fixed in DrawPlus X8. I can only apologize for this inconvenience.

Well that just sucks! I haven't done any key animations for CTA2 in DPx8 yet but never had problems in DPx6. I vaguely remember there was a SWF export problem back in DPx4? that I complained about and it got fixed in a later update (same version). I'm surprised at their response and lack of concern. I'll have to complain too and maybe that will up the ante a smidge. Jeff

Les, What was the problem? I opened the file in DPx8, exported to SWF, dragged and dropped it onto CTA 2 (Pipeline x64, V2.15.2328.1) and no problem. The SWF was 1.22KB in size. Jeff

JeffMake it RS, only one index showing and if you set it to skin the color goes to dark gray. https://community.serif.com/forum/69176/drawplus-x8-will-not-be-fixed-keyframe-animation

Ah yes, I see that. I replicated your object with my DPx8 and had no problem, it showed up with 2 indexes. I then decompiled both SWF files and found a difference, yours has an image in it whereas mine did not. ---------------------------Yours -------------------------------------- Mine I opened it with DPx8 but could not find any image on the page, layers or anywhere. Did you perchance use a gradient or something that would force it to convert to an image? I deleted your quick shape and made a new one and the same problem persisted. That leads me to believe that it is probably in the file, not the shape or some other object (hidden?) is there. I'm sure you have tried it again with a new file? What version of DPx8 are you using? Mine is 14.0.1.21 (64bit). Jeff

I have the same version of DPx8.
Try starting a standard vector file and then change it to Keyframe. I think the program adds something during conversion. Thanks for your help

Les, I usually COPY from a drawing to a keyframe for SWF export and never had any problems. Never did a "conversion" though but I'll try that when I get home later tonight. Jeff

Les, I tried what you said and sure enough there is an image stuck in there. Not sure why that is but I guess you can't convert from a drawing to a keyframe and expect it to work with CTA2. I typically: 1) create objects in a drawing doc and copy to a keyframe doc to do a swf export or 2) create the object in a keyframe doc. Jeff

jlittle (1/12/2016) Les,

Not sure why that is but I guess you can't convert from a drawing to a keyframe and expect it to work with CTA2. Only with DP x6, x4,DPx5 (12.0.4.27) & DPx8 (14.0.0.19)...It was the update to DPx8 (14.0.1.21) that corrupted the SWF file.
I typically: 1) create objects in a drawing doc and copy to a keyframe doc to do a swf export or 2) create the object in a keyframe doc.
Jeff
Myself also but for fast job or second thought drawings I convert.(or use to):P:P:P
Also thanks for Buddy hair and RS props... I love them.
