I have been exporting characters from DAZ to iClone 5 and for some reason have problems. Here is the basic one. I took a character (nude with some basic touches) and dropped the DUF file on the face. Exported via 3DXchange and it was recognized as non-standard and works fine in iClone. BUT... can't put any clothing on it. I can use hair, but not wardrobe. Can't use a naked character... So, I took the same DAZ character and put clothing on it. Now, in 3DXchange it doesn't recognize it as non-standard. I click the button to make it non-standard and go through trying to assign the bones but it fails. Spent over an hour and can't export it to iClone.
Ideas?
TIA!

In DAZ you need to transfer rigging from the Avatar to the clothing, and then when ready to export, make sure you choose "Merge" for the Bone hierarchy. There is more to it, but that is the essential requirements. dwacon (12/5/2015) I have been exporting characters from DAZ to iClone 5 and for some reason have problems. Here is the basic one.

I had success with one character, but the terminator skeleton the only way to get his chest to move with his body creates an error: 77% of original size (was 652x19) - Click to enlarge So, do it without errors, chest does not move with the body. Get the chest to move with the body and it will not convert or export. DOHH!!

From the error that you show, it seems that the Chest is not under the Hip bone (which is a requirement). It almost seems like your character does not have a chest piece and the chest piece is another character. As was suggested, ensure that the everything is Merged before the export. Not having your character, I can't say for sure but from the error I'm guessing that the Chest might be implemented, in DAZ, more as a clothing item attached to the DAZ figure instead of an actual chest morph. If you are not baking the clothing to the character during the export, then the Chest will become its own entity and possibly cause the problems that you are getting.

See that long bone that ascends vertically from the floor? The bone in the skeleton that it connects to needs to be you hip bone. Yes, it may seem odd, but many older DAZ figures are built that way. It will actually look like the first bone of the spine. So...... make that your "hip" bone, and skip any bones between that and the leg bones (thighs). A skipped bone is, in effect, a part of the preceding bone.
