What do you mean by Custom cc base ? I mean that CC comes with a shirt (dress style), pants (jeans) and dress along with some other few things like underwear and accessories.
There is no skirt base, there is no coat base. There are a lot of empty categories in CC unless you buy the CC Essentials Bundle.
I managed to make a fairly convincing leather coat from the shirt base but the bunched up sleeves of the shirt make it hard to use that base as a winter coat (because the sleeves will be too short).
What I liked about iClone prior to CC was you could buy the different cloths (like G5 Cloth) to save time or (with 3DXchange) you could create them yourself to save money.
With CC the bases are CCCloth files which neither 3DXchange not iClone can generate. Yes, you can take a CC Base in iClone modify the materials, opacity and so on and save it as a CCCloth file but as far as I can tell, I can't create a CCCloth file (to use with CC) from scratch (or mesh modifications of an existing CC Base). Even modifications to CCCloth meshes are not allowed (i.e. I can export Heidi's dress, modify the mesh and re-import it but you cannot do the same with CC characters - the mesh can be modified in 3DXchange but when you load the result in iClone it uses the unmodified mesh).
I know...I know...some is going to respond to this and say "just buy the CC Essentials Bundle and stop complaining". Well the CC Essentials Bundle adds a lot of bases but there will always be something that some content developer wants to create that is not going to be covered by one of the CC Essentials bases. This is why the "CC Pipeline" is coming, right? But what about now? Any way to either mesh modify the existing bases or make some from scratch?
