I have finally broken my installation in an attempt to trim my 256GB ssd. Cleaned the registry, deleted files and generally just made a mess of it. On a new install iclone attempts to recover my "unsaved project" If I click O.K crash, if not iclone opens i can create a project but when I go to save anything it crashes.

OS WIN 8.1 16 GB RAM GTX 980 4GB

It seems something is amiss. Do any of you icloners know what to do?:discuss:

The "unsaved Project" files are stored in the iClone Temp folder on your PC.

If my memory is correct this folder is stored by default in this path:

C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\Reallusion

Since the AppData folder is hidden you need to make sure that you have "Show Hidden Folders" selected in the Explorer View settings. Locate the folder and delete all of the files stored in it, this will solve your problem.

If you are having space problems on your system drive then I would also suggest that you place the Temp folder on another drive on your system - you can set the location in the Preferences settings in iClone.

Thanks Gerry, for being the first to reply.

I did not find a file at the location C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\Reallusion there are some files at

C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local\Temp\ contains 3 files RLT8908.tmp all blank and a folder RLTMP containing ICBasics and ICContentManager . but I don't know if theses are the correct one's.

Okay, so I opened a support case in order to resolve this issue and received the following.

Instructions for a clean install are:

It appears that there is a problem with your installation of iClone 6 and/or the data stored in the system registry. To resolve this we have provided you with the 'iClone 6 Registry Remover'.

Please complete the following steps: -

1. Uninstall iClone 6.
2. Download and unzip the attached file.
3. Run "CleanReg.exe"
4. Then Go to "C:\Program Files\Reallusion\" and delete the iClone 6 folder

Note: When you run CleanReg you may get an "Access Denied" error message. If this happens, please right click the Cleanreg.exe and select "Run As Administrator". Thank you

Now download and install the latest full version of iClone 6 which is version 6.02. You can get this from your Member Account.

This may work for some but for me didn't not resolve my issue.

I resorted to a factory reset of my system and have only loaded the required software to continue rendering. I was experimenting with relocating system resources off of C: drive when things went wrong.... morale of this misadventure - get a bigger SSD !

Hey,
I have the exact same problem with my Iclone 6 and I did not mess with any registry files. It looks like there is a corrupt auto save on the system. Deleting the Temp files does absolutely nothing. It seems that there are files outside of the temp folder that may get corrupt and cause all of this crap.

If anybody else has an idea... it would help a ton. Iclone is unusable and the support team, thus far, seems to be clueless.

I have the exact same problem with Iclone crashing when loading a saved project. I created a trouble ticket and sent in a dxdialog. I did what I was told and still had the same problem. I've been able to reload the projects by loading a default project first and then loading the saved project. It doesn't work all the time but most times it does. This happens mostly on larger files. There's got to be a problem with the software as sometimes the file loads and sometimes it doesn't. Also seems like if I wait a few minutes after starting Iclone I have a better chance of the file opening. I hope they get this fixed.
