Gee post-launch commotion is typical and not the end of the world! Keep it positive if not constructive....

Some spot-on comments spotted...

Want to make semi-Pixar movie from your desktop? Be prepared to have a top-end gaming PC. Read tech spec before buying. Sheesh.

No deep pocket? Crazytalk is equally creative.

No faith? Don't pre-order.

Don't like launch bugs? Don't jump in too early.

Want to play self-appointed company spokesperson? Put personal ego aside, have basic tact, charisma, and patience. Observe and learn from Peter and certain unbiased forum members.

Want to play volunteer forum help? Want to help sell IClone? Learn to listen well first and hold the trigger. Observe and learn from tactful forum members with good listening skill.

Don't like whining? Don't whine at the whiners.

Don't like whining whiners who whine at whining whiners? Well... Eat a cake. Drink some coffee. Whatever.... Whenever... :D

Btw, prabhatM, you're right, I'm still hovering around - the updated real-time render is definitely more attractive than ever. So is the soft cloth weight map implementation.

But I shall wait til things get a little more professional around here...

See ya!!! :P

How sad this is.
I was one of those who didn't have the machine to run ic6 but purchased it and am waiting till later to install it.
I don't complain about it and I sit and read these posts.
They have gone from calling reallusion names for not giving a firm release date to impatience on the first day of the launch because you could not get it loaded to problems with the new software which you were told was not perfect and would have to see some updates in the future.
Now people are complaining and calling them fraud.
It seems you like to complain and try to keep people arguing so you have something to do.
I will get my new computer one of these days but until then I will not be complaining on here. I may ask for help like I do with ic5 or send in support tickets if i think it is necessary but not bad mouth the company I voluntarily purchased a product from. You were not purchasing a perfect error free product and you were told so on these forums but you chose not to pay attention.
Suck it up and grow up a little so we can enjoy the peace we had before.
Ken:)

It is all very interesting how people post about our new toy. I understand some of the frustrations, but think you are sometimes a bit harsh. I have to state clearly that I have no affiliation with iClone and I am a newbee user. The new iClone 6 has however wowed me. I love the new interface. To get the most out of it you need a duel monitor setup - which I have. The new docking system is just so wonderful to work with. After a very short period of playing with the program I was able to find everything I needed. The old menu system was, to say the least, confusing. iClone 6 is much more intuitive in the organization of the menus.

Bug there are many. Crashes there are often. System resources there are never enough. The new Indigo toy is just out of reach for mortal computers like mine.

All-in-all I have to give RL a thumbs up for releasing iClone 6 early, even though we have no manual and even though there are bugs, I still have my iClone 5 to fall back on if I have to, but honestly - the only reason I have opened V5 was to find transfer old content and assets to V6, Not a single time to actually use it for creating a scene (yet!).

I totally agree with you on every single aspect, btw my iClone6 never crashed... now just now Indigo is failing to launch but I have new gtx 970 with old shipped drivers and that has to be the problem. I don't experience flicker, till now, afraid to upgrade because of the reported flicker on the gtx. Till now 3 thumbs up for RL

Planetstardragon,

If I recall you mentioned in a thread you were a Beta Tester for RL.
If that is so... you helped stir the mix of this dog's breakfast called iclone 6.
What happened? Fall asleep at the wheel?

In defence of our beta testers, they were given a shorter than ideal amount of time with the software but did an amazing job of tracking down issues in the time they had, even with no real documentation.

The biggest issue at the moment is that iClone 6's system requirements are much higher than iClone 5 and this has meant many IC5 users are simply not able to run the software.

I will say that for users whose systems meet the recommended specifications they will not be experiencing major issues. For sure there may be some stability issues and we are working hard to reduce these and correct remaining bugs in the upcoming 6.01 update.

What I would say is that if you are personally experiencing issues with iClone 6, then please contact us at Technical Support and supply your dxdiag.txt. We will certainly work with you to try and get the problems fixed.

No Justaviking, moviemachine doesn't work for a competitor.

Justaviking didn't actually think so.  ;)

Yeah right... and I'm working on a patch too... A patch to cover my sore eye from looking at their sorry looking new user interface!

That's funny.  I'm growing fond of new UI, but that's still funny!

(Don't get me wrong, I still get lost a lot, and I haven't really pushed the new timeline features like I want to, but overall I think that in March if I were given the opportunity to keep the new UI or go back to v5's UI, I expect I'd vote for the new one.  But that doesn't mean I can't laugh at a good jab.  You get 2 points for that one.)

Heck,I'm dumber than a bag of hammers so the only purpose I could serve in a company is getting coffee.

Believe it or not, my posts, although sarcastic & out there come from the heart.
A heart that is filled with love for Iclone.... I want iclone to grow and flourish but over the past long years we have tried over & over that let's all be positive approach and wait for RL to get round to it. This approach has failed.

Every release of iclone is the same, accept the flaws... shut up & wait, be nice, don't say poop even if you have a mouthful.

It is time for a tough love approach with RL.
Maybe this approach stirs them from their sleep before users jump ship in droves.
How about for once RL man up and apologize for rolling out such an abomination instead of their canned " list your findings and we'll have the team look at it" "We're working on a patch"

Yeah right... and I'm working on a patch too... A patch to cover my sore eye from looking at their sorry looking new user interface!

I am just as passionate for RL and iclone to succeed as planetstardragon and all other users of this forum.

Oh, and in anticipation of the next post that is due to show up soon...

"The beta testers were probably given a lot of goodies (payment or bribes, essentially) so they'd say good things about Reallusion and iClone 6."

I've already seen words to that effect in other threads.

LOL.

Some beta testers don't do much, so maybe they come out ahead.

Most spend many, many hours backing up their PC, installing, uninstalling, reinstalling software, hitting bugs, encountering dead ends, and a spend lot of time and effort typing up BUG REPORTS and verifying bugs that others found.

Assuming the beta testers got a "free" copy of iClone 6, which would be customary, the good beta testers probably worked for the equivalent of the astounding get-rich-quick rate of $0.07/hour.  Now that's incentive!

As I said, I've been in other beta programs, and often they are the harshest critics, especially in the privacy of the beta environment.  But they're not haters.  They make their cases strongly and passionately!  But they remain professional.  They move on to the next issue, helping to make the software better.
