I am getting the error below when trying to load a file I created with Iclone This file is not compatible with the application. Please update your Iclone to newest version by clicking on check for update in the help menu on the top right of the main program. I know i am using the latest release as indicated below Installed Product | iClone5 PRO Edition | Installed Version | 5.23.1913 | Official Release Version | 5.23.1913 |
Please help. Since posting this message, I created another project and saved it..Tried to load it again, but ICLONE said the file is unreadable

What happens if you Select Open Project & then Right-click on the Project / Find File, in Content Manager. Assuming that you Save your Projects to iClone's Default Location. I save mine to my Desktop (For a number of reasons).

I agree with colour - I always save my projects to the desktop. Not sure if it makes a difference, but try it and see. Cathy :hehe:
Just click on the graphic to go there.

Another thing I just thought of - I open iClone FIRST and then open my project from within it rather than just double-clicking on the saved project icon. Not sure if this will help - but it works for me. Cathy :hehe:

bsesay (8/30/2012) Since posting this message, I created another project and saved it..Tried to load it again, but ICLONE said the file is unreadableTry saving a project to a different hard drive (if possible), just to eliminate a hard drive issue. If all else fails, it will be worth uninstalling iClone5 and doing a fresh install. You won't lose your installed content packs or custom content (keeping a backup of your custom content is always advised though). This will normally sort out any strange issues like this. You can find the latest full installer of iClone in your Member Account.

Cathy :hehe:Double-clicking on the Project Thumbnail doesn't Open it in iClone in iC5, as in iC4, Cathy.:ermm: Another iC5 boner of contention.:ermm: That being said, now that iC5 has 32Bit & 64Bit Versions, iClone woulkdn't know which version to Open the Project into.

If all else fails, it will be worth uninstalling iClone5 and doing a fresh install It's about time iClone had a "Repair" Option, like other Programs, Peter;) BTW- Uninstalling iClone leaves a number of Registry entries that need to be cleaned with a 3RD Party Registry Cleaner, before Reinstalling:ermm:

Thanks everyone for the help... After checking and trying several other options, the problem seems to only happen when ever i load props with missing links... This message appears when a prop with missing links is loaded: "Failed record undo/redo step. Undo manager will restart." Now, when that project is saved, it cannot be reopened. This is happening from content I transfered from another computer or installation. I've removed those props and made a fresh install of the content pack and the problem has not come back yet. Thanks again

"Failed record undo/redo step. Undo manager will restart." Oh, you use iClone 64bit. :w00t: It´s only beta. This is only a fat and well known bug of this software. Just wait some years. Perhaps any patch will repair this problem. colour (8/31/2012)
