Deathvision (2/2/2015) Hello Guys, im new to iclone
I was wondering does the export license content over both iclone and other software or export content doesn't working in iclone and can only be exported. Asking mainly because export license is quite expensive i figure it should be used in iClone and other softwareHi.. The export license allows you to export your iClone content to other 3D software or gaming engines using 3DXchange 5 Pipeline. You do not need an export license to use the content in iClone and export it in video form. Exported videos can be used commercially or non-commercially without an export license.

A simple question. When I export a model in pipeline and the "buy export license" does not appear, can I now use the model in Unity app and sell the app(Android)? What will happen if I buy Monster Workshop and do the same thing with a model from it? If I create models with the content that comes with iclone 5, can I export the fbx without buy any export license? Thanks If 3DXchange5 Pipeline allows you to export without prompting you to buy an export license then either the content doesn't need one or you already have it. For example, you do not need an export license for all the embedded content that comes with iClone (over 1,000 items).

Good news indeed.
For me... this is reason enough to get back to zBrush and character making as the mechanics of it are getting much easier to implement and the potential market much larger.
Like a lot of folks here I've had a lot of things pirated either by design or "accident" but you can't protect an open pipeline and a pipeline HAS to be open to function well. No away around it so the increase in price makes sense. For Vue products it usually twice as much for an "unlocked license" so not sure where to price... somewhere between the 2 and 5 times but not sure where.
If we do attract game developers then they should be used to this type of licensing. Great positioning for a product that just keeps getting stronger and stronger as it should move us into a larger market that is used to and able in most cases to pay more for the open version which a home or hobby user couldn't justify.

dreamcube, that looks indeed very good and cinematic. Well, that would actually interest me: if I could export to get better quality renders.

ya, the gaming engines are especially killer in this workflow because they work closely with autodesk to get really tight imports. and I don't know if anyone has seen previews for the new UDK 4 engine thats coming out ....Its INSANE.....the default gaming render on UDK 4 looks like a ray trace render from max or maya. FBX will always be a proprietary format to autodesk so if you really want to explore the power of this pipeline, you have to see who affiliates themselves closest with Autodesk. Everyone else uses SDK kits and makes their own home brew of fbx importers that are iffy, but certain companies work very closely with autodesk to make FBX a powerful format. This is preview of what the next gen UDK 4 engine is capable of....OMG!! http://www.gamebreaker.tv/pc-games/completely-unreal-engine/

for me personally, Pipeline would only be useful for either exporting motions, particulary if I got the kinect plugin or maybe using some existing characters such as Jana, Gwynn, Chuck Jane, Jack etc using my own heads to use in say Carrara or Houdini if I ever figure it out for special effects such as fluid sims etc to integrate in an animation.
I actually would not be all that concerned if I did not have it. The upcoming facial animation for non-iClone characters in iClone excites me more.
I certainly can see the exciting possibilities with pipeline for gaming though.
I can use the exported motions to create skeletons to rig characters in Carrara which is one reason I would need to save my pennies for the kinect plugin and kinect, in order for it to be of use to me. however so far though I have not been able to apply those motions to other characters in spite of renaming bones in BVHacker, I am probably missing something obvious.

CloneCloth isn't going anywhere. It remains an essential option for creating custom clothing. Very glad to hear it Peter :) Shy

shygirl (6/13/2012) Is Clone Cloth on the way out? Is G5 Cloth the last we will see produced by Reallusion?CloneCloth isn't going anywhere. It remains an essential option for creating custom clothing. As improvements to the bone structure of avatars continues we may see older CloneCloth varients being discontinued but that shouln't be seen as signalling the end of CloneCloth completely. I think your services will be in demand for a long time yet. :)
