Thanks, that seems to do the trick. It does mean I would have to re-scale any other props in the scene. Small price to pay.

Okay got it to work. As the videos state there are limits and when you exceed them it gets flaky. Try this:
1. Use the 4 point cloth and do NOT activate physics (its already activated) 2. Scale up the cloth uniform to 200 (from 100) 3. Use the basketball and scale that up to 300 and reduce the mass to 1. 4. Don't put the ball too high above the cloth
Let 'er run with By Frame. It should catch the ball. Looks good actually.

Yup, that's giving me some trouble. You can drape a soft body on a static object but using a dynamic rigid body onto a soft body doesn't do what you expect.

The ball is dynamic, I just wanted it to fall and be caught by the cloth.

Is the ball set to kinematic and did you go to frame-by-frame. Check this video at the 9:48 mark.

I'm trying to simply get a ball to bounce on some hanging cloth. The ball is set up as a rigid body, and the cloth is set up as a soft body with "soft vs. rigid collision" enabled. When I run it, the ball makes a ripple in the cloth, but otherwise passes right through. What have I forgotten?
