I am in the same boat as you are, I have office 2010, and I was trying to create a WidgetCast for work but I was unable to do so because I have office 2010. I'm hoping some will respond to your question. It does seem like a waste of money if there is a limitation on what versions of office you can use. Adobe has the same problem with their presenter 7 software. But they never tell you that presenter requires a certain version of office, and presenter 7 is not cheap. :(

Sadly the current version of WidgetCast will only support Powerpoint versions up to 2007. The develoment team are aware of this issue and looking into it. As soon as more information is known I will update on the forum. Thanks.

Is there any plan to upgrade the WidgetCast so that user can use PowerPoint 2010? I have been waiting for a long time since Powerpoint 2010 came out. If compared with other Reallusion programs, it seems like Reallusion has kind of 'abandoned' WidgetCast. Anyone who can help us to bring this issue to the Technical department will be helpful. Thanks.

Hi Moses Unfortunately I know of no immediate plans to offer support for PowerPoint 2010. Should further news become available I will certainly update here and let you know.

Did I really just spend over 100 dollars for a program that cannot be used with Powerpoint 2010...? Has there been any progress made on this?

i wonder if you can use this free viewer as a medium http://download.cnet.com/PowerPoint-Viewer-2007/3000-18483_4-10742145.html with widget cast. i don't have powerpoint 2007 or 2010, but if this viewer works, I could probably use open office as my microsoft alternative and use the powerpoint viewer as the medium to widgetcast. http://www.openoffice.org/

seigiri (10/8/2011) Did I really just spend over 100 dollars for a program that cannot be used with Powerpoint 2010...? Has there been any progress made on this?I'm afraid that at present I know of no plans to introduce Powerpoint 2010 support in the current version of WidgetCast. If there are any changes to this I will update here.

So are there no plans to update this program? Has reallusion just given up on this? Perhaps it should be moved from the products menu and labeled as discontinued so people such as myself won't waste the money on dead-end software.

However the current version is still fully working and supports PowerPoint up to the 2007 version. Once more is known about future updates I will certainly post them here on the forum.
