I might be missing such a feature, please let me know if I have!

but I'd love to an option to select & reset limbs individually to their default position. I realise default motions can be applied to a lot of limbs, but it's messy adding a motion, just to return a limb to it's default pose.

eg I may have a character in a certain pose, but the lower arm has ended up in some wierd position. I'd like to be able to reset just the lower arm back to the default position without resetting the entire body pose to default. Also sometimes arms or shoulders end up in a twist and it's difficult to figure out how to get them back into a normal position. A reset limb/bone option would be real handy in this situation

Fingers are often very difficult to figure out. I've ended up with a twisted mess of fingers and can't untangle them. I tend to be reluctant to pose fingers, because it can be quite a challenge getting them back to a default position.

Hi Darren,

One way to get rid of unatural bending is to switch to tranform in edit motion mode and pull the limb strait down. To reset fingers, click & drag the hand diagram as shown below.

Cheers and Happy Holidays :)

I wasn't aware of that one Chris, thanks for the tip - might help me get out of some of those twisted situations - especially with fingers!

however I still believe a feature where you can set an individual body part back to default position would be good. For instance, sometimes I have rotated a shoulder throughout the animation, and then later moved/rotated the lower and upper arm only to find the shoulder mesh or arm looks creased or twisted. By that stage I usually forget whether the shoulder has been rotated or twisted etc and by how much, so takes me a while to figure out how to get the shoulder back to the default position. Other times I simply don't know if it's the arm causing the problem or the shoulder. If I could simply reset each body part seperately to default it would be much easier. Usually I have to rotate the avatar around at various positions and play with the settings until it looks right.

Good call Darren. I have needed a feature like that for a long time...someway to tell us where we "are" in a given rotation.;)
Also "limits" to how much a given part can move naturally ... and an "override" of course:cool:

Thanks for the suggested feature. This has been passed to the iClone team for review. :)
