Hi, I am new here. I am a video producer by trade and so workflow is something I am accustomed to and rely on. So far, I can see that Reallusion has amazing products. But as afar as tutorials go, all I have found is random one-off tutorials about this thing and about that thing. Cool! But I have not yet seen anything about workflow from start to finish with regard to creating characters, putting them into a scene, animating, exporting, etc. Does something like this exist?

Hi Gentry, The Reallusion system is pretty good stuff. A full-blown workflow chart doesn't exist per se. Like you, I did film using mostly Premiere and AE. By day I am an IT project manager and teach artist dev for a few programs in DC. Currently, I am engaged in developing a logical workflow "specifically for iclone" that works as a template to follow so I can teach my cohorts. I just can't work without a plan. They have multiple stores so it can be confusing to navigate their website but it gets easier. Before the process, I had to covert my mind on these facts: CC4 is to create a character, Iclone is to Animate. Cartoon Animator is for 2D projects and does both, I think (I haven't dived in) Learn XYZ axis, Rotation, and Scale. You'll be using Alt + mouse all day. Utilize the cameras. You can add multiple cameras and use a switcher in the timeline like a multicam. (Unfortunately though, you have to hover over the switcher to see which camera is at which keyframe. :( That's a significant drawback that slows me down but the other features make up for it. Just know you can't see your camera number in your timeline switcher so it's a lot of hovering and pinpointing to verify. There are also loads of tutorials and help here https://courses.reallusion.com/. Not sure if you have to be a subscriber but I have this open all the time and helps me a lot. I learned most of this in 3 months from my first intro to Reallusion and have a pretty good workflow built out for what I'm doing. Let's stay up, I plan to launch a short video explaining what we've come up with as it relates to the project we are working on.

Hey there! Thanks for the reply!
Yes, their store, despite fun to look around in, is just oversaturated with feature lingo, product names, etc., and can be confusing and overwhelming. I feel like a kid in a toy store. So props to their marketing and advertising department haha. Finding what products and plugins I needed took a little bit to. It was kind of hard to get a snapshot of how much projects would cost.
I own CC3 and iClone 7. I have played around in them but haven't produced anything yet worth showing. I am considering getting more serious about it and upgrading to iClone 8 and CC4 for some features they provide. Thanks for the information and the reference to the tutorials. I have watched multiple tutorials from the link you provided over the last year or so and have ascertained much of what you were telling me. But I am like you - I need a plan! Here are a couple questions I have been trying to find answers for.
1. With CC and iClone (and any relevant plugins), can I create and export a complete scene - at least complete enough to send it to Color and Sound for finishing? I know a lot of people like to export to Unity or Unreal and finish there but I was wondering if I can contain my entire project in Reallusion products (aside from things like foley, sound mixing, color, etc.) 2. Sound mixing - I'm curious about the best workflow for foley and sound mixing. In video editing, once your edit is locked/approved, you export a certain file type and send to your sound mixer - they do their thing, then send it back to you to then replace the non mixed sound within Premiere, Da Vinci, etc and export your final video. I'm wondering if something like that exists in Reallusion workflow or if the best thing to do is just export the final video and send it to foley/ sound and mix those in Premiere or something.
Thanks again, for the reply.
