Hi...

We used to provide templates for Flash and DrawPlus to help create G2 characters, but even with the templates it was a long and quite complicated process which is why we switched to G3 characters which are much easier to create.

Sadly with Flash and DrawPlus now defunct software these workflows are no longer a viable option, but you can create G2 character by switching the sprites of an existing character. The process is a long one because of the sheer number of sprites that need to be changed but it can be done if you have the patience. Please see the manual page which explains the process.

thanks, but flash is not defunct, it is still actively updated under the name adobe animate and is still the leading standard for drawing and animation in the industry, i find myself drawing characters in flash and then arranging them into spritesheets and assembling them in photoshop with the photoshop rig template, it would be nice to have a way to directly draw the rigs in flash cause thats what alot of people are used to doing, and the g3 rigs are quite annoying since they do not have support for multiple angles so to make a rig with all the angles that a g2 character has, i have to make multiple different rigs of the same character for each angle. and when using 3d rlmotion files i have to edit almost every frame with the layer editor and the motion key editor due to how glitchy they are. so it would be nice to have access to the g2 templates to take advantage of their perks.

Adobe Flash and Serif DrawPlus were both discontinued several years ago with Adobe removing Flash for sale or download in 2020 so I don't think it is incorrect to call them defunct.

However, if you are still interested in trying to work with G2 characters, I have provided the Adobe Flash Templates as an attachment. These are completely unsupported now and may or may not be usable, but you are free to try to use the templates if you wish.

Hopefully they can be some help to you with creating new G2 characters.

works perfectly, thank you for sending me it. though when you said that flash was discontinued in 2020, you were referring to the flash web plugin, everything else related to flash as in the animation software and the projector are still distributed and maintained even today and are still the most popular software that is used to animate tv shows and stuff, for example battle for dream island, total drama, clone high and smiling friends are done in flash. it would be nice to have g3 flash templates for this reason too. since photoshop and illustrator are not really designed for making animation rigs in the way flash is. which makes them difficult to work with when making rigs for cartoon animator from my experience.

No I wasn't referring to just the Flash Player I was referring to Flash in general. The link below explains the situation with Flash in more detail.

this article is also just referring to the flash browser plugin. flash as in the animation software is still very well maintained and sold by adobe under the name adobe animate (they changed the name of it from flash to adobe animate cc several years prior to 2020 to seperate the browser plugin from the animation software) though most people who use it still call it flash, so i can see the confusion

adobe animate recieved its latest major update in october of 2023
