I'm currently at a loss of what to do. I decided to upgrade to the newest version of iClone and CC, because I wanted to try out the new character sim/prop features. Apparently that was a mistake, because now I'm having major issues with over 50+ characters I spent over a year working on for a full length film.
As you can see in the video, both character's hair goes invisible but are not gone as iClone still renders the shadows underneath like normal. If you zoom out far enough the characters hair renders properly with zero issues. The closer you get to their faces, the above happens regardless of where you rotate the camera.
For more background, I normally create character hair as accessories because I've been doing it that way since the original iClone. I especially like it for more complicated hair like my female character's ponytail, bangs, and side hairs. It's less of a hassle to fix parts for scenes that need tweaks instead of sending it back to CC4 over and over again. I'm also able to animate them beyond just using soft cloth physics.
I have: 1. Loaded every character I have made into new separate 8.5 project files. 2. Loaded old project files with these characters within them. 3. Loaded the characters, deleted old accessory and then imported their separately saved accessory file.
None of the above have changed anything.
I have tried several things to see if I could find a solution: 1. See if accessories that have shared texture maps and those that have individual ones for each component that makes up a hair style are affected differently. They are not. 2. Loaded in saved accessories again, resaved a new copy and then reloaded again. Get the same result. 3. Recreated one of the least complicated hairstyles, saved in iClone, and reloaded. It seems to be fixed, but the issues repeat if I save a new project file and reload.
Only thing I haven't done yet is uninstall/reinstall. I thought it might be a driver issue, but If I have physics turned on and press play it will fix the issue until you move the character within the scene. You then have to repeat the process. Saving after has no effect. I've found that I have some other accessories that also disappear and it seems to be based around the ones that have soft cloth physics enabled, but not everything with soft cloth physics is affected.
Has anyone else come across this issue or something similar?

Hi, Atlier
Yes, we noticed this issue and will fix it as soon as possible. Atlier (9/10/2024) I'm currently at a loss of what to do. Hi there, if you need a quick fix for the hair issue: this happens to all softcloth props. Indeed the only currently solution so that they'll become visible: activate softcloth and physics and hit play. After that, softcloth props are visible again.
Unfortunately there are many issues and after doing lip keys for any character while sound is also in Iclone, it crashes while playing.
We can't work either in this state Iclone is right now and all our projects are on hold. We are very upset about this...

Regards LabratsYeah I was noticing it fixes it for a little bit, but I'm having several other issues mentioned in the other topics and ones I hadn't seen mentioned: 1. This BIG one is I currently can't even work on projects right now. My framerate tanks in the view port, regardless of what I place into it. 1 single character or a 1 texture prop drops everything to 5-12FPS, when I used to get 100+. I have an i9 processor, EVGA 3090, 32gb of Ram, on an SSD. This should not be happening. This particular update broke iClone for me and now all my projects are also on hold, which is frustrating. 2. My program preferences have all reset and won't stay saved and my personal program default project file won't load anymore on start up.
I haven't bothered to look for more because it's depressing.
