Is there a way to fix center line seem issues in CC4? I tried smoothing the mesh, but it creates a gap between the left and right clothing panels.  Also, why does it pass the center line like this? Thanks

That's because your mesh is not solid.
Whenever you create and export items out  your modeler app,
you have to make sure to solidify or export welded.

Both the character and the pants are just stock from the content store. So this is how the pants came into CC4. I simply dragged the pants from the Content List to the character. Lastly, I believe the character is solid.

Thanks

There is a "weld vertices" option within CC4 now as well. See the manual page here:
https://manual.reallusion.com/Character-Creator-4/Content/ENU/4.0/08_Creating_Custom_Assets/Welding_Vertices.htm

Thanks... I tried the weld vertices, it didn't really work in this case. Either the vertices were to far apart or CC4 merged the wrong vertices.

Oops! I should have mentioned that you need to weld the vertices before you conform, or even transfer skin weights. Because after conforming the overlapping verts your clothing software made may be pushed apart to far to reliably merge without merging something unintended.

But as 4u2ges mentioned, it is a good idea to weld your vertices in your clothing creation application.

Yes, exactly, right away. I actually downloaded that content as a trial and Weld worked with default 0.01 threshold value.
Then you can gently smooth seam areas and tweak weights between legs (I tried on default cartoon female character).

I would also suggest to urge developer about the issue.

I'm using the Yvonne character because the outfit was designed to fit her out of the box. I'll try your settings later and upload an image. I'm pretty sure I tried 0.01, but I'll have another go... :)

I'm talking to the developer about another issue at the moment. I don't want to overwhelm him... lol

Thanks,
Sean

Here's a video where I tested weld with Yvonne... Sadly, the Weld dialog didn't get captured in the video. But, I choose the following:

0.01, 0.11, 0.51

https://youtu.be/llIDMD404Gs

None of them had great results.

Thanks,
Sean

Weld by itself is not going to fix the center line.
But it will merge the mesh into one piece so that you may use Smooth brush to fix without ripping it apart.
I suppose Yvonne in an older CC3 generation character (not +), but the weld would work with pants on with any generation.

I downloaded that content as trial

I have a strong feeling it was a Marvelous Designer made where developer exported without welding.
