Hi everyone, I’m Ayden Lim from Malaysia. I wanted to share my journey with the Reallusion community. Using Character Creator, I was amazed by how quickly I could create digital doubles. For this year’s contest, I chose to create a model of Yusuf Dikec, the Turkish shooter who became a viral sensation at the 2024 Paris Olympics. I deeply admire his calmness and composure during the Olympic competition. Inspired me to approach this contest with the same relaxed and focused mindset. Created entirely using Character Creator and animated in iClone, this model captures the essence of Yusuf Dikec's iconic look, from his distinctive facial features to his relaxed pose with one hand casually in his pocket, highlighting the essence of his unique Olympic moment. Final Thoughts - I didn’t have to worry about rigging facial expressions or body movements, all I needed was to concentrate on morphing his face. The entire facial and customization process was completed within Character Creator, The results far exceeded my expectation. This feature has been a game changer for character designers like me, allowing us to bring our creations to life with ease. I hope my experience can inspire others in the community to explore and push their creative boundaries! Good Luck everyone! Meet Yusuf Dikec: The Turkish Shooter [WIP] Design References - The initial stage involved gathering references, including images of Yusuf Dikec’s viral moments and his competition attire. Key elements, such as his calm expression, casual pose and distinctive glasses and green watch. Face Design - Starting with a base model in Character Creator 4, I adjusted the facial features to match Dikec's unique look. Fine tuning included modifications to the eyes, nose, mouth and ensuring his calm.Hair Design - I selected a ready-made "Classic Short Hair" template from CC4, as it closely resembled Yusuf’s hairstyle. I customized the hair material by adjusting the strand color and highlights (A and B) to closely match his natural hair color.Clothing - I chose the "Basic T-shirts" and "Slim Fit Pants" templates from CC4 for his outfit. To replicate his competition look, I extracted the shirt material & used photo editing software to add the TURKIYE logo and wording on the T-shirt.Accessories - For his accessories, I included three key items: his black glasses (Self Model), green watch, and the pistol. These items were downloaded from Sketchfab, where they are available for free use with attributionPistol Positioning - After importing the 3D pistol model, I used the attach feature to adjust the character’s hand to hold the gun accurately. I carefully aligned the finger positions to ensure a realistic grip, closely mirroring how Yusuf holds his pistolWatch Attachment - I attached the green watch to his left hand, adjusting its position and scale to fit naturally, reflecting the accessory that Yusuf often wears.Pose - I posed the character with one hand in his pocket, just like Yusuf’s iconic stance.3 Views Character Displays - I created front, back, and side views of the character to show the full design and detail from different anglesAnimation Settings - Using iClone, I animated the bullet leaving the pistol, adding realistic movement to match the shooting action. The bullet’s trajectory was carefully timed to synchronize with the character’s trigger pull.Sound - I imported sound effects, including the trigger pull and gunshot sounds, to enhance the animation. The audio elements were carefully synced with the animation to provide a realistic and immersive experience.Render Test - I tested different lighting setups to make sure the character looked realistic, refining the textures and clothing as needed.
