To create Agent EVA, I used the following tools:

My usual workflow: Iclone, Character Creator, ActorCore, Perception Neuron, and Unreal.

  • Motion Direction Control (from Iclone): This Iclone feature allows you to add animations without each one starting from the same origin point. So, for EVA's walk down the hallway, where I used about four animations from the Lady Agent package, I was able to combine them all into one continuous linear animation. I also used it to mix animations captured with my Perception Neuron suit and Mixamo animations. For example, when the robots were hit by bullets, I had the animation captured with my suit, but then added the falling motion from a Mixamo animation, converting everything into one seamless animation. This was because I didn’t want to simulate a fall with my capture suit, fearing I might damage the sensors...
Another set of animations I used were three from the ActorCore package "Hand to Hand Combat." Since I was only going to use a few, I bought three of them individually along with their corresponding opponent animations. This is an advantage of ActorCore—being able to quickly preview the animations and, in the case of fight scenes, getting the animations for both characters.

  • Digital Soul, Face Puppets, Face Key: I used these Iclone options for EVA’s facial expressions. Since she also fights in the short, it was necessary to add different expressions to the character. It’s very simple, especially with the Digital Soul package, which comes with presets for various expressions.

  • ElevenLabs and AccuLips: For the parts where EVA has a couple of lines. For this short, I didn’t have the usual voice of EVA, a great voiceover artist who lends her voice for the EVA episodes. This production wasn’t intended to add extra costs, so in these cases, I use ElevenLabs' AI-generated voices. Of course, they aren’t the same as what a voice actor can produce, but since this short was just a practice, AI voices were sufficient. Then I imported the audio into Iclone using AccuLips, which automatically generated the mouth animation.

  • ElevenLabs sound effects: For some sounds I didn’t have in my libraries, like the robots’ voices in a nonexistent language.

  • Unreal: The software where I compose everything. It allows me to create the scene without the need for a storyboard. I can try different camera angles and lighting setups, seeing everything in real-time without needing to render.

Basically, that’s everything I used. As I always say, the idea is to keep accumulating practice hours, not just in using different programs, but in everything involved in creating a scene with cinematic concepts.

Love your work. I use a similar but without the mocap suit. I do use Elevenlabs, they are amazing voices, though a real voice actress/actor is obviously preferred.
Unreal is a ton of fun to create in and works well with Iclone.

I look forward to more from you.
