Thank you for the tip! I was used to working with layers in PowerPoint, so I assumed there must be a way to manipulate them in iClone too. But I’ve since figured out that it's just a matter of moving the Avatar forward, which lets it appear in front of the video. Having the video as a background, like in PowerPoint, might be a solution—I just need to test if it will still play properly. Thanks again for the suggestion and for thinking along with me!

Best regards,
Shirley

You can move the plane further back so that it always be behind the avatar.

If your avatar movement is more front to back than left to right, you whould place your plane behind the farthest position of your avatar.

Another option is to have the video as background and not as a plane (one of the options as Peter explained), because then the video will always be behind the avatar.

Thank you, Peter, for the information! I was able to successfully insert the video and adjust its size and position. However, although the video initially appeared behind the avatar, as I moved it to adjust its height, it ended up in front of the avatar. Is there a way to intentionally position the video behind the avatar?

Best regards,
Shirley

Hi Shirley

You can add a video into your scene quite easily. All you need to do is "Right Click and Drag" the video into your viewport. You will then be presented with the options IBL, Image Layer, Plane, Billboard or Background Texture.

For what you want to do Plane will probably be the best option and once chosen your video will appear as a prop in the viewport which can be moved and resized as required.

I hope this helps.

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a project to create workout videos using an avatar in iClone 8. Is it possible to insert an existing video into my project as a background template for my avatar to follow? This video would serve as a reference to help guide my avatar’s movements.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how to set it up? Any advice or suggestions on how to best achieve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Shirley
