I've heard this is was in issue of soft shadows in the past but it seems to be in set as default in the SSS translucency shader -it just needs a slight adjustment of the unmasked Scatter Scale
Look at the hose leading into the mouth, it has banding on it.:

Maybe it works differently for others based on their lighting, I don't know but this is at least one way to manage the issue.
