Hello all, For years and years I used Toon Boom Studio to make hundreds of animations since 2007. They discontinued it around 2016 and I tried to use their Harmony product but it was far too complicated for my simple animations so I stayed with the old software.
As happens, my ten year old computer died and when I went to install Toon Boom Studio it wouldn't work. So here I am trying to find a new software. I'm not interested in Toon Boom products because they charge monthly and I want a perpetual license.
I know there will be a learning curve (which I'm dreading) but want to know how easily it was for you to learn the basics. From opening a new project to rendering it out.
I could add a ton of info, but will wait to see if there are replies.
Thanks.

Hi I assume you mean for 2D animation yes?? In terms of both price and ease of use you really cannot beat Reallusion Cartoon animator.

Yes, 2D. The frustrating part is that I have a decade's worth of libraries that I'll have to recreate. I'll have to download and see how well I can adapt to it. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input. Indeed I also have the MOHO Pro software and yes the only assets that might be usable between such programs are static 2D background images. The Character animation systems & assets are all very program specific.
