I purchased BuildingGen w/ French Style add-on, and it's very cool, but I bought it on the premise that I could use it to create my own styles with external content. There seem to be good tutorials in the manual for how to adjust external content once imported into iClone, but I would like to create / adjust my styles in an external 3D app, and then import the result into iClone.

Looking through the documentation, I'm a little confused how to do this.  It seems like you're supposed to match the scale / dimensions of the default styles to avoid spacing issues.

What I'm looking for are exportable templates for the included styles - even if it's just block-out templates for the dimensions so that the styles I create match on import with minimal adjustment. Also, some kind of importer to match names and create a collection automatically would be amazing.

Or am I not understanding the BuildingGen custom workflow. Are you meant to match the default style element dimensions, or will it accommodate arbitrary-sized pieces, provided the scale is uniform and you tell it what dimensions they are?

I am working on an article for Reallusion Magazine that concerns some of these questions. In my testing, it does appear that custom or third-party kits need to match but I'm not through with testing yet. I was able to successfully convert a Stonemason (Daz) hallway kit to use as a hallway or building exterior and the only thing I had to change was the height of some items and that can be done in the packager. I am still testing out different 3rd party packs for more info on this. Hopefully, I can cover some of your questions in the article.

FYI for other users: Below is a custom package I made from props in the French Style Pack. I used these props to learn how to use the plugin packager as I knew the props would be sized right and it helped me to understand the plugin.

There are a bunch of video tutorials here, including a couple showing the process of using your own assets:

Very good ideas.
