I have been trying to use premade svg characters in CTA5 but I am not getting pass through it. I use Inkscape. How do I go about grouping the diverse paths in the svg character and exporting them to CTA5?

Hi...

Are you using the Inkscape Vector templates to help create your character? If not you can find them below. There is also documentation for Inkscape users which should help.

Thank you very much Peter. But I have gone through the document you mentioned and still not making headway. I have tried to start from less 'complex' design as spine, even with that I'm not yet making headway. Please, I really need help with this. And if you don't mind, I could post my files. The svg file cannot be uploaded on this platform.

Hi...

The best advice I can give is to start with the Inkscape Template as advised previously and then just make minor changes to the template before checking in CTA5 to see the results. Trying to do too much in one go will make it hard to track down errors. Templates are also a great way to start as the bone structure, groups, and asset folders are already created for you. You only need to replace the included assets with your own assets.

I would also strongly advise taking the time to watch the tutorials below, especially the Intro, so you understand the processes involved.

However, if you find the shorter tutorials do not help, then please take a look at our archive of Cartoon Animator webinars below. These are much longer and go into much more detail which can be helpful if you are completely new to CTA5.
