Gizmo inverted when char is too small ?

I would like to point to the Tracker where i describe something with an inverted Gizmo when a char (i think) is too small.
Took ma a whiole day to find that out. Soon as the char has a size of "XX??" the gizmo doesnt behave like that,
so i assume a char must have a minimum size ?
