You say that motions is a saturated market due to ActorCore? Or you mean in general, the entire 3D market (not just RL) already has many motion packs? I am asking because I thought the opposite was true, but I may be wrong.
How would you advise me to research this matter more? How would you advise me to research this matter more?
Well there are several factors to consider
Iclone has the ability to import and covert biped motion from a variety of sources Mixamo, unreal market etc. and the market is
growing very day now that we can literally create motions piece meal with the various new AI systems and retarget them to the rigs in our programs ,including Iclone
So those, who are needing canned mocap, have little reason to get excited about yet another set of runs, walks ,combat, conversational,Dance etc. motions coming into the Reallusion eco system from your mocap system.
Also You cannot legally sell animation in the Imotion format unless it is through the Reallusion market place as vendor.
but that marketplace is already dominated by Actorcore
so you have to compete with them on both price and volume
and offer something really unique not already in the various marketplaces.
The reason I sell animation to the Daz market is because
(unlike Iclone)
Daz studio has utter crap for internal animation tools so there is natural Scarcity of quality animations
The Daz .duf (animation)format can be legally sold outside of the Daz store.
All of their various generations of the genesis models have
Different bone rigs thus any canned motions are not universal
and each new version of Genesis breaks compatibility with all previous existing mocap libraries without an expensive external solution Like Iclone or Autodesk MOBU to convert them.
I have made quite the $tidy sum$ :D,in the last six months, selling my Mixamo retarget rig ,to the Daz user base ,as the latest Genesis 9 does not work with Mixamo by default.
