I know these features are available after sending a character to NDVIDIA Audio2Face for processing, and they add a very lifelike quality.  Why can't iClone provide the same type of controls w/o the hassle of round-tripping to Omniverse?  There are a few benefits to doing this:
- Customers without RTX would be able to use these to add life to their characters
- No need to export (characters that are 'unexportable' due to licensing could use the feature)
- Faster and more reliable(?) than 'round-tripping'
How about it, RL?

Face Puppet can do that pretty well. When the face puppet is a active, left-click makes the character blink.

Yeah, but the Audio2Face panel in iClone does it 'auto-magically' (again, saving time).

It's all based on patented Nvidia technology.

Nvidia clearly forbids anyone to implement it on non-Nvidia hardware. That's why AMD and Intel stopped their attempts to implement it. They don't have an alternative solution.

You basically need the government stepping in and forcing Nvidia to open the technology for competitors.

That could set an interesting precedent. I wonder what that would do to Apple...Unsure

No terrible,,TERRIBLE idea!!
that is not how intellectual property works.
Now before anyone claims that “Duh Gubbamint” already has the authority to break “monopolies” one needs to understand that the Anti-trust statutes are to protect the GENERAL PUBLIC from tyrannical control of ESSENTIAL resources for modern, civilized life (food, Energy , water etc).
The Anti-trust laws are not meant to make sure everyone gets access to the private IP of  aprivate company just because they  like it and want to use it ....not in a capitalist incentive based system.
Nvidia clearly forbids anyone to implement it on non-Nvidia hardware.
Nvidia is a hardware company with no compelling in interest in making software (omniverse A2F etc), that runs on it’s competitors hardware.
Just as Microsoft windows will no longer run on the new M1-2 Apple hardware.
Customers without RTX would be able to use these to add life to their characters

From what I have seen Reallusion has already provided a solution arguably better than Audio to face with the new Accuface plugin that captures emotions as they are expressed by the face actor.
Now yes you still need a NVIDIA GPU for Accuface but that is one of the prices you pay by staying within the Reallusion ecosystem comfort bubble.
I use a FREE video based facial capture system that works with both Daz genesis figures figure
(imported to blender via a FREE addon)

or with any non Daz figure Face rigged with a $90 dollar blender addon.

Both solutions run great on my Dell Intel graphics “potato”  computer with no NVIDIA GPU.

Snippet From  the article:
Snip >>>Nvidia has banned running CUDA-based software on other hardware platforms using translation layers in its licensing terms listed online since 2021, but the warning previously wasn't included in the documentation placed on a host system during the installation process. This language has been added to the EULA that's included when installing CUDA 11.6 and newer versions.
The restriction appears to be designed to prevent initiatives like ZLUDA, which both Intel and AMD have recently participated, and, perhaps more critically, some Chinese GPU makers from utilizing CUDA code with translation layers. We've pinged Nvidia for comment and will update you with additional details or clarifications when we get a response.
Longhorn, a software engineer, noticed the terms. "You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any portion of the output generated using SDK elements for the purpose of translating such output artifacts to target a non-NVIDIA platform.," a clause in the installed EULA text file reads.>>snip

Again this is no different than Daz restricting the use of their Genesis HD morphing
system outside of Daz studio
or Reallusion banning the distribution of Imotion files.
Companies will do ,whatever the law allows, to keep buyers inside their ecosystem.

@Sophus -- this has nothing to do with NVIDIA -- RL 'owns' the CC format, they can move the eyes and head of their characters any way they want within their own software.  In fact, part of the reason for suggesting this is to allow people WITHOUT RTX to be able to experience 'similar' life-like motions added to their character.  Note I am not talking about Audio2Face, but simply moving the eyes and head in a random manner, instead of statically staring straight ahead.  (I actually wrote a plug-in for this for iC7 ("Ex-Static") but didn't convert it to iC8 because I thought the Digital Soul/Expressions would eliminate the need for it -- maybe I'll take another look at it...)
