Hi everyone,
I submitted a ticket to Reallusion customer support but they suggested asking here in the forum since they are not familiar with the Steam version of SP.
So I'm following Michael Pavlovich's Character Creator & Substance Painter tutorial here:
According to what he described in the videos, you need to download the Substance Painter Preset File from here:
And then put it into this folder to make the whole pipeline work:
C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Painter\assets\export-presets
(Similarly, Reallusion mentioned this step in their own tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_81SXzHpVU)
My question is, which folder should I put the file into if I'm using the Steam version of Substance Painter (2024)?
Just in case you don't know, the Substance software has a Steam version which you can buy from the Steam store. Not like the normal subscription-based Adobe version, the Steam version is a perpetual license but you need to pay for each yearly version when it gets released. I haven't purchased this Steam version of SP yet but according to its nature, the installation path should be different from the 'normal' Adobe version. That's why I need to confirm this before pulling the trigger.
Anyone using the Steam version of SP with CC4 here? How do you set this up?
Any input is appreciated. :)
Regards,
Acon

Just to answer myself...I purchased the Steam version of Substance Painter 2024 yesterday and found the same folder there once you started the software for the first time.

So I guess the export preset file is supposed to be placed in the same directory.

It still maybe different for others. After my username, "one drive" path was next, then documents. If anyone still has a problem, navigate to the "users" folder,  then search for export-presets, the folder will also include a text file letting you know to add export presets there rather than it be some kind of dummy folder.
